Say hello to the enV3 for Verizon

First came the LG V (vx9800), followed by the enV (vx9900) and enV2 (vx9100). Then we heard that the new successor would be the enV3 vx9200, but haven't seen any pictures or specifications...until today. Thanks to VZW E over at HowardForums, we can now see what the device will look like and know for a fact that it will come with the 3MP camera and flash. The external dial pad is slightly curved and looks less like a calculator, with a larger and more functional display. The interior still appears to have the same stereo speakers and QVGA display that is used on the enV2, but the QWERTY keypad now has a single Space button in the middle, instead of one on each side. A few of the functions buttons are now blue in color, instead of being orange.

How "innovative"...FAIL! I love the absolute HELL outta my Storm and combined network, but in my opinion, VZW has an awful phone offering. And now this, c'mon! How mundane and redone can you possibly get?!

I agree, the "V" and EnV, were on the right path, great focus on having an exclusive looking camera, flash, and useable keypad...Ev2 and appearently Env3 are showing:Same small keypad and the Same small Landscape screen and Same camera with no Lens protection or Led flash....zzzzzzzz, boring. the voyager should have been named the Env2 and these piles should be called "HasBeenV". Cmon Lg bring something a little stronger to knock on the sidekicks door...

The Voyager destroys the sidekicks.. I know a lot of ppl that had the sidekick and they hate it... its an oversized piece of shit on a shitty network... and before you say that I dont know anything about T Mobile's service I sold it and had it for a year.. I also had a verizon phone at the same time and my T Mobile blackberry always dropped calls or didnt even have service.. Do you like the Sidekick because it finally feels like you have something large in your pants when you put it in your pocket

The previous enV versions were really good phones. I don't think this phone is soooo much bigger, it seems to be about the same size as the evV2 (which is a great size) but with much improved features, like the 3megapixels autofocus camera and flash, that's pretty cool!

what the hell is so envious about this? the orginal V was high end at the time, the enV was high end but now they've turned the lineup into crap. the enV phones should be extremely high end devices that everyone wants. the only thing i like about the enV2 is the small size but i'd rather take a bit larger phone that packs more features. i hope this does not carry the enV branding.

to be honest i think its a decent improvement. there isnt all that much you can do to the env line. it fell apart with this past env2 and turned into a new direction. with so many phones now with qwerty keyboards, the whole "envy" thing wasnt a big deal like it was when first one came out because it was a new type of phone that werent flooded on the market like it is now. lg and verizon pretty much took what they learned from the env, and made it into a whole new look with the voyager which was something new to envy. they probably didnt put too much effort into this env3 because they dont want to outshine what the new voyager will be like. the env2 was a decent phone i owned it at one point, i hated the front, which they fixed and looks a hell uv a lot better. and the new internal part minor changes is even refreshing. for those saying it has to be something to envy. a high end thing. times have changed. and really, what really high end devices does verizon make these days? the env line has become a mass market type of phone that people who dont need high end stuff will buy. teens and middle aged women who like texting behind their boyfriend or husbands backs lol. you want high end, buy a smartphone, thats pretty much what its come down to with verizon

People bash this phone just like they did with the EnV2. I think it looks pretty cool. Once we get more info and pictures and maybe even a video Ill make my final judgement.

Agreed, the Env3 looks like the EnV2...how disappointing and crappy. However, wtf is wrong you heavy for constantly putting down the storm in lieu of a bj2? You want to talk about a cheap piece of garbage, you got one. Sprint FTL, go get your stock up before you speak again.

Haha... When the hell have I constantly(really, constantly) put down the BJ2 in lieu of the Storm? Name one other instance that I stood up for the BJ2 other than yesterday. I hate the BJ2. However, when idiots go off and spout off how it is the worst rated smart phone when it is clearly the highest rated phone by Consumer Reports, I start to get really annoyed.

I personally don't care for a lot of phone AT&T offers, and I am most certainly not going to brag about how cool and great the BJ2 is. I simply was correcting completely false statements made by fanatic fanboys. As far as the Storm goes, I don't care for it. I love Blackberry, so don't get me wrong, but I like a traditional physical keyboard BB. (Ok, I am done)

y do verizon fans get mad when someone bashes one single phone on their network? do u fanboys truly believe every single phone in verizons lineup is amazing? for god sake they still defend the samsung glyde which is a terrible phone. the env3 is a rehash of the same thing and verizon fanboys cant even admit that. i admit that the iphone keeps getting rehashed.

I love verizon. Won't switch networks (and _I_ pay my bill!). I hate a lot of verizon phones. Especially the cheap shitty ones (and they have a plethora of cheap shitty phones!)
I owned an enV1 way back in the day. Loved the phone, only gripe was a tiny outer screen. What did LG do for me? made me be able to see 2 contacts at a time with the enV2 rather than, what, 6 with the original? And here they go again, half the phone is trim for the screen. It is ridiculous, they keep making it smaller.

LG makes great phones, but the original enV was the best of the series, and as long as they keep walking backwards, it's not gonna get any better.
I'll keep my BlackBerry Pearl for now...

No, sorry I've got to disagree.

Long time VZW customer and I'm getting tired of this. They've don't have a phone that compares with anything on any other network let alone a whole line of phones that compares to anyone else's network. Hell they would of been better off just bringing all of altel's phones over when they bought them.
The new enV is a disappointment as everyone said, who is going to enV that? The new Voyager is a disappointment. They could of tried something different but they just made the voyager again.

I was holding out to see what these phones had to offer but now it looks like VZW doesn't have anything to offer so I'll try elsewhere.

VZW doesn't have a phone that compares to anyone's network? You mean like, they have more touchscreen phones than anyone else? More QWERTY phones than anyone else? Or are you just pissed that you have to pay the data fee every month? You're dumb, move on.

You really should look around what other companies have to offer before you say verizon's line up is terrible... There is not much out there that can beat the phones that verizon has to offer. Unless you are one of those idiots that wants a multimedia phone or a smart phone but is to cheap to pay the extra money on the data you have to have with it.

Great job Big Red! You took a piece of shit, slapped some new paint on it and tell everyone it's a new product, how clever of you. Verizon's line up is terrible, same weak-ass phones, they are always last to get new cool stuff. The storm, who cares, I would rather see an Android phone come out. Big Red won't do it, cause they like to nickel and dime people with Vcast subscriptions and hate the android maket cause they can't make any money.

Androide Shmandroid....*rehnhart* you dont even belong here, go back to "T-so called Mobile" and get your android on...First of all the Storm kills the Android G1, and the only reason it gets hipe is because of all the *Low Budget* T-Mobile "Drones" get a hard on from the only advanced device avaialable to them with technology they dont even understand. I could flick golden dog crap at someone with T-Mobile and tell them it was googles new Invention and you'd eat it with a fork...and to add that this phone isn't "THE" line up. Its one stinking phone, yes its not that great but your acting like this is the only phone left on the planet and your forced to get it. Save us all the trouble and dont talk crap about the network that dominates the industry in innovation and financial stability, WE'RE obviously doing something right people like what we have and WE would be where WE are if it was otherwise...You dont liiek the phone , go to an LG Forum...

Papa, your right, my comment probably should go to the LG forum. My main point was though, that Verizon has a history of taking their existing line of phones, slightly changing them and re-releasing them with little innovation involved and I would like to see a Android phone on Verizon, since I am currently on their network with the LG Dare and want a Android based phone. As far as the Storm is concerned, the phone is what it is and has a small niche in the market, mostly Business professionals. I admit that T-mobile is not the greatest in coverage or reliability and since you used "WE'RE obviously doing something right" in your post, you probably work for Verizon, so maybe you should go to the Verizon forum.
