This is the worst phone i have ever used. Every sanyo phone i have ever used is garbage but this is by far the worst of them all. Its awful and i really dont feel like going into detail because everything about this phone is bad from the design to the colors to the menu style, etc. The only pro to this phone is that it is some what durable. It can be dropped and it still works like a p.o.s.

SANYO 8400 IS NUMBER ONE!!

I have owned many Sanyo products and one previous Sanyo cellphone. The previous Sanyo I owned lasted 2 1/2 years (the SCP-5500) and would have lasted much longer if I hadn't gone out and gotten the 8400. 3-D graphics run smooth and Sprint TV offered by Sprints Power Vision is amazing as well. The broadband-like connection has little buffer time and any audio playback coming through the speaker sounds very clear. I haven't had to turn any of the volumes up past half-way and it is plenty loud. My father got the same phone and it has enlarged fonts that are very clear and easy to set up, not to mention the main LCD display is crystal clear. The mini LCD, though still not perfected, is one of the best i've seen.

Design: 5
It is a compact (slightly smaller than my old 5500 which was compact to begin with) and stylish cellphone, very modern. The buttons feel good to press, very reactive. The all around design (from faceplate switching to the tiniest details in how the camera is slightly inbedded to prevent scratching) is amazing, I don't like fragile feeling phones and this one definately feels solid.

This has everything from audio, video, broadband-like web speeds and awesome graphic interface. Ready-link, though i don't use it (but have in the past), is a great feature on phones. Bluetooth supported. The MicroSD card (so small its about the size of a pinky nail) slides into the side of the phone for additional data storage of anykind. Hooks up via USB to any computer, plug and play, and your copying files to your phone in no time. Within 5 minutes of plugging the phone in i had 5 or 6 of my favorite MP3s on the phone. The only downside was I couldn't use them as my ringtones. The phone also comes with GPS turn-by-turn directions for finding any destination (you'll have to pay for this though). Interesting to note, though, if your friends give you permission, you can locate them via GPS and drive to their location. Freaky :P but cool. Type in your zip code and get updated news, weather alerts and up-to-date temperatures and conditions, sports, stocks... all set up like widgets when your phone idles. Many many more features I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention.

Sound Quality: 5
The sound quality on this phone is amazing. With the MP3's i stored on my MicroSD card I played them back through the speaker on the phone which, surprisingly, sounded awesome. Highs and mids come in very clear, too bad they can't strap a subwoofer on for clearer bass, but it still sounds very good. Has a headphone port so if you don't feel like bothering everyone you can put them on and listen to your MP3s on the go. The reciever microphone is also very clear. The polyphonic ringtones sound as great as any of the new polyphonic ringtones I've heard.

Signal Strength: 5
Like all Sanyo's past to future, this phone has exceptional reception. Sanyo's customer satisfaction rating is the highest of all cell phone electronic companies and I'm happy to say, I've had very few problems with signal strength with this cell phone, and even my old Sanyo kept great reception.

Value: 5
The phone is well priced. (279.99 U.S. dollars thru Sprint). Concidering the blackberries are far higher priced and any old cellphone would run you about 150.00 for mediocre features and design. This phone takes a huge jump in multimedia, design, and high-tech features including Bluetooth and streaming online content making this phone well worth the additional money.

Overall, this phone is the best phone I've owned and I'm sure you'll agree!!
