Samsung plans on investing more money this year on mobile phone software

advertisment:
You've got to hand it to Samsung when it comes to consistently releasing handsets left and right – they always seem to be on top of everything. With 2009 behind us, it made Samsung's intentions of releasing a new smartphone platform clear after it was said that the company invested 130 billion Won (approximately $112 million) in mobile software. After the unveiling of the Bada powered Samsung Wave during MWC, Samsung CEO Choi Jee-sung has mentioned that they plan on investing even more money this year to hopefully make Bada a clear contender in the smartphone operating system market. They plan on storming all the fronts by launching smartphones that entail a myriad of price ranges – including more on the entry-level spectrum as they plan to compete against their rivals. They will really be require to bring on a spectacular lineup if they truly want to topple the current number one spot held by Nokia – they too plan on releasing inexpensive Symbian-based smartphones this year. Without an actual Bada handset available for sale to consumers right now, Samsung is definitely taking a gamble as they spend more money on getting their platform up to speed for the upcoming ride ahead – we'll see if it'll be bumpy.
