Samsung may be preparing a CDMA OMNIA

The FCC approved the i910, which may be the CDMA variant of the i900 OMNIA. If it comes to the States, it is expected to be offered with Verizon Wireless...

OMG. WiFi is a catch up device. It is used by inferior data networks to allow you online. It shackles you to a coffee shop. If you were on a GREAT data network like VERIZON, you would realize that you dont need WiFi like you do on ATT. Instead, they take out WiFi and do useful things like add more memory and enhance features to a 3g network, not an EDGE network

I may not "need" WiFi... it's true. Yeah, WiFi access is limited to access points, but what if all I want to do is download stuff at home over the wireless network I've already got set up? versus pay an extra $50 a month for whatever "unlimited data services" would really mean to do it over VZW's network? Sure, I see the benefit to Verizon when they "take out WiFi". But I don't really plan to sign a contract for an extra $1200 just to benefit Verizon. Selling crippled hardware and charging extra to make up the difference doesn't undo "shackles" at all...

I would have to disagree on Verizons "great data network" Sprint has a far superior data network running at 3.5g as apposed to Verizons shakey 3g network. But come June non of it will matter with the launch of Xohm

I don't like VZW because it operates on CDMA bands, which means I can't use my unlocked oversea GSM phones. >_>

wow....all of you make very meangingless comments about verizon wireless, all of you also contradict yourself, I think it would be best if you worked in my shoes and saw what actually happens at VZW and it isn't always up to Verizon on what we do and get, I sat down with Lowell our CEO as I won the presidents cabinet of 2007 and he told me more things then i really needed to know, and also working at ATT, they're not any better....but once again, just like all customers, you guys are just dumb....and really dont have any actual justification on your whiny bullshit you make up, please get a life.

Serious, it's about time that VZW finally getting some of the best phones out in the market to day, I was so jealous at all the european omnia users at http://www.Samsung-Omnia.org discuss about all the cool features that this phone has to offer.

Anyone know the release date, please post here, so I could be even more excited.

The only thing i can see VZW locking down is GPS so that customers have to get VZNavigator, but guru's out there will probably find a way to unlock it for use with Google maps or Live search. Yeah Verizon is about making money but who isn't these days. They're likely not to cripple the Wifi as they see no need to with the coverage they have for BroadbandAccess/EVDO. And think about when LTE rolls out, Verizon will offer more Nokia phones than ever before, May take some time but i see it happening.
