Samsung U940 is the Verizon's variant of the F700

UPDATE: Our internal sources say that the U940 will be Verizon's version of the F700 GSM phone. Like it will have side-sliding QWERTY keyboard and touch sensitive display ..

Being a VZW customer myself, I truly do enjoy the service. Althought when Sprint was introduced in my Area in 1998 I had them for quite a while. Service was great in teh beginning but was horrible after about 5 years. Once I got VZW though I have to say the performance FAR exceeded waht I would up with at Sprint. VZW does take their sweet time introducing things to the market but I say quality vz. quantity! (Although for sprint, My Sanyo will ALWAYS be TOPS!!!!!) I've played with the Voyager up close and personal before consumer release and I have to admit is is nice. Hell, it't the first CDMA of its kind (offering such new services as MobileTV). But I prefer to wait for the 2nd iteration. I havea Samsung now and I know they will deliver an even better touchscren variant for Big Red. This U940 proves that. Funny though, I am seeing it as having (2) different keyboard setups. Wonder which will come to the states. Becase that LG with the spacebar on the bottom right of the keypad was the deal-breaker on the Voyager to me!

VZ rocks
I don't know why you guys and/or girls think Verizon sucks. It has kick ass phones and great coverage. I live near Bradbury (in cali, near duarte) and i live almost at the top and i have to say i could call and text people and it always goes through. And face it Verizon has way better phones then any other company. It has the Voyager, Venus, and now the U940. AT&T has iPhone and blackjack which is the same thing as the Moto Q but crappier. T-Mobile has Sidekick. Face the facts you only think Verizon sucks b/c of the hype of the iPhone or blackjack or sidekick. Whichever way you look at it Verizon rocks.

Hey Quick question for you all, first a few comments; Seems like verizon has a really hard time providing WiFi capabilities on their phones, even many of their smart phones lack the feature, business is business, understood. I currently own the i760, I've been having issues with bluetooth, UI freeze, battery power consumption, and error messages. All did on this phone is add music files, that's all, and it has been going buck wild on me. All and all it's a great phone, but I would much rather have this one, because of the size of the touch screen, but the only feature I really want is Wifi for this phone to be a perfect buy. Does anyone have any information on this, or the release date, I would greatly appreciate it.

Tx

I don't agree
Verizon is the best provider around, but I wouldn't go with a Samsung, I had one previously, and I had to go back three times to replace it, luckily, Verizon decided to give me my upgrade three months early, and let me get a newer phone. In which I chose the voyager. LG is a much better manufacter then Samsung.

Virizon does have...
the best network... and I am a verizon customer, but they piss me off with disabling features for the sake of gouging my pockets. Why should I have to pay for VZW Nav when my BB 8830 has GPS and BB maps preloaded. Every other network gets to use what was marketed to them but Vzw customers. I'm sure that even with this phone which is hot!, they;ll dumb it down by making us get stupid Vcast to get songs... its a love hate relationship!
