Samsung B2700 Preview
Samsung B2700 Preview
Published on: 07 November, 2008 by PhoneArena Team
- Model:
- B2700
Our Samsung B2700 Review is now published - read it here.
Introduction:
Phones resistant to impact, dust and water are rarely found on the market so the release of such a model by Samsung deserves a small celebration. B2700 is made to survive. It has a protection class IP54 (meaning that is dust and splash resistant) and is equipped with a compass, pedometer, altimeter and a flashlight.
Since we have a prototype, we’ll make preview instead of a review and will not get into details. Expect our review as soon as we get a final unit.
Design:
B2700’s design is nothing special, but that’s not a surprise, considering that the model has been created to work in rough conditions. Its entire body is rubber-coated, quite thick and relatively heavy.
You can compare the Samsung B2700 with many other phones using our Size Visualization Tool.
It has a low resolution (176x220) TFT display, supporting 262k colors. Over it is located the camera for video calls, and below it are all navigational and soft buttons, accompanied by the keyboard.
On the right side of the device we have the camera shutter and the flashlight (located on the top and with a very bright beam) switch. The opposite side houses the volume rocker and the charger connector, which is tightly covered by a protective lid.
The microSD slot is located under the battery and getting to it is not very easy. Let’s not forget that the phone is designed to be splash and dust resistant and is hard to open.
