Rumors about Sprint getting the HTC Hero and a Samsung Android device This article contains unofficial information.

advertisment:
According to PhoneNews, Sprint is internally testing the HTC Hero, which got announced yesterday. Fans of the operating system will be pleasantly surprised if the Hero appears on Sprint, having in mind it is not just an Android phone, but the first one to feature a new personalized interface, called Sense. The Hero itself is slated for a U.S. launch later in the year, but there are no details about carrier availability.

HTC Hero Specifications

That’s not all! An Android-powered device by Samsung is also being tested, the source informs. It will be WiMax-capable, which is entirely in unison with the info provided by a previous rumor we heard. It should be released at the end of this or at the beginning of the next year. If all this is true, Sprint subscribers will surely be pleased, as they will be able to get not just one, but two Android devices. So far, that’s been a privilege of T-Mobile users only.

WHY SPRINT? Sprint has the worse service ever in all category...It should be t-mobile the fastest growing network in europe, asia, and USA! This phone is way too good to be in sprint network. No offense to Sprint.

What kind of drugs do you take cause they must be very potent...you are absolutely hilarious lol. The fastest growing in the U.S. They have terrible service here in the U.S...as a matter of fact they have the worst service in the U. S. That my friend is a FACT! Now that im done with this peice of work I think it is great that Sprint will be receiving android phones they are moving in the right direction this year. They need to after all the mistakes they have made lol...

the service depends on your area... i have T-Mobile and get sooo much better then i do with sprint (i tired it for 15 days) the sprint coverage map is inaccurate and said i would have 5 bars and i was roaming!?! T-Mobile had 5 bars just fine and has always had it. sprint employees tried to tell me it was a defective phone. then i called and they said it was the tower i then talked to someone else there and mentioned it to them and they said towers were fine in my area....

Haha I find it hilarious people really believe T-Mobile is a competitive wireless company in the US! Yes they are huge internationally but in the US not soo much. Go check the numbers because T-Mobile is trailing far behind in 4th place. I would tell you to look it up in your T-mobile phone but I dont want you to have to waste hours of your time to find reception then have to wait for T-Mobile's Blazing internet speeds. hahah!

yes what kind of shrooms iz that guy on?? t-mobile the fastest growing service hahaha thats a joke. Sprint has way better service and is even gonna go 4G so the htc hero would be perfect for Sprint and not sum other wack carrier such as t-mobile. Sprint is the BEST!!

The Samsung version of the Android phone for Sprint will have some specs that will blow the HTC out of the water. The phone will be an amazing phone in terms of form factor, style, and power. It is slated to be debuted the later part of '09 for the carrier.

If the HTC Hero is with Sprint, that MIGHT just keep me with them a little longer. Otherwise, Verizon was going to be looking awfully good. While the Palm Pre is getting many apps, Android I think is second behind Apple in terms of app development. The HTC Hero would have Android, the new UI, a web browser with FLASH, Wifi, Global Roaming, a touchscreen and a trackball?

It almost sounds too good to be true for Sprint, honestly. This is not their typical style. And, if the Samsung version will blow the HTC out of the water...I'd love to see it. Who knows, maybe Sprint might actually challenge to get the iPhone in the future?

while this would be great news for sprint, the source is unreliable. phonenews is consistently the worst phone site on the internet, and the owner has proven himself to be a self-righteous douchebag across many forums
