Philips may be working on a touchscreen smartphone?

Last week, the first pictures of what may be the pioneer all-touch phone from Philips’ Xenium line appeared. The information about it is still to be confirmed, but the rendering of another model of the same line, called X-Connect, emerged. This line is known for the great battery life of its phones.

Unlike the X800, the X-Connect is reported to be a smartphone, using Windows Mobile 6 Professional OS. It runs on a 624 MHz Intel processor, supports 3G UMTS/HSDPA, has a 3” touchscreen, and sports an integrated GPS receiver. The most interesting thing about it though, is the AA/AAA battery backup.
