Parrot with new fashion speakers

The model is called Zikmu, and according to the manufacturer, it is meant to be something more, than a common audio system. You can look at it as a work of art. Or as an iPhone or iPod cradle. Yes, in one of the two speakers (2.5 feet tall) you have the option to plug in an iPod or an iPhone and to play music directly through it, while it’s being charged. The design of the remote control is also Philippe Starck’s work. The other way of transmitting songs to the speakers is via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, as in this case you’ll also have to get your phone or computer involved.
Parrot promises some impressing sound, spread in every direction. This is being accomplished by flat membranes, placed on every side of both speakers. It is said that the sound is going to “adapt” itself to the acoustics, depending on the room size and the position of the system in it.
Sounds nice. We’ll see the end result in the Spring of 2009, when Zikmu is expected to be released, at a price of about $1500.
