Palm introduces the Pixi, heading to Sprint

advertisment:
The second webOS device has been introduced by Palm. The device that we were calling the Eos is now the Pixi and is heading for Sprint with a 2.63 inch screen and a QWERTY keyboard on the face of the device. Sporting dual band CDMA and Ev-Do rev.A, the Pixi will not have a Wi-Fi radio. It will have a 3.5mm audio jack, 2MP camera with flash, GPS and 8GB of internal memory. The HTML browser will render desktop style web sites and the App Catalog will be available for downloading applications OTA. Wireless charging will be an option with the Touchstone charger. Launch date and pricing were not revealed, but at the source link you can add your email address to be notified when the Pixi is available.

This phone is ugly. But to each its own. I don't like the looks of the Palm Pre either though so it may just be me. WebOS is great though, they need a new design team and they would have a winner. By the way this phone doesn't have WiFi so this may be a del breaker for some of you.

Yeah if your going to be on Sprint you have to be bottle fed by some crap WiFi device. I hope this will help Sprint keep some customers, God knows, Sprint and Palm may be shreing the same Life Raft!

hate the candybar shaped phones with a physical keyboard.
why do they do that? it needs so much space makes the phone larger and the screen smaller.

they need to make a WebOS phone sans keyboard... you honestly don't need a keyboard anymore... make the screen bigger like 3.8, leave the vollue keys and the "synergy" keys on the bottom and the home button, and make a AMOLED Touchonly phone with a wonderful virtual QWERTY. That would sell... or make the pre with a landscape keyboard instead of portrait... unless you are a small women or frail man... you cannot type fast successfully on that keyboard... or rather i can't.
