Nortel supplies Verizon with the new EVDO Revision A

Verizon Wireless and Nortel will be introducing the new EV-DO Revision A - a new technology allowing higher data speeds with a theoretical maximum of up to 3.1 Mbit/s for downloading and up to 1.8 Mbit/s for upload. The high-speed technology will allow Verizon to introduce new, real-time wireless services such as VoIP, video and other streaming media.
EV-DO Revision A is expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2006.
