The wait is finally over. Nokia's new flagship N-series device, the N96, is now available with US 3G frequencies through its New York and Chicago stores. This was confirmed after PhoneArena placed a call to their store in Chicago.

Although the powerhouse of a phone has the US 3G frequencies, it only supports 850/1900 MHz of the 3G spectrum, so again, T-Mobile customers are left in the loop while AT&T customers can utilize every aspect of the gain. A quick refresher of the N96 is as follows: it has a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and the ability to capture video at 30 fps. Along with the built-in 16GB of hard memory, the phone is also equipped with a microSD card slot. It comes with Wi-Fi as well.

Per Nokia, the N96 US has a price tag of $842.40. Amazon is offering it as a pre-order item for $705.99.

Do you have any proof of this? I would love to see it.

Also, doesn't the N96 NAM drop DVB-H (or whatever the letters are)?

I don't know if it drops it, but I know it doesn't work in the US.

Of course a phone called "N96 US" wouldn't work in the US.

well the n95 was in att labs but when nokia announced the n96 they decided to go with it instead, we were supposed to launch the sony ericsson k850i, but canceled it at the last minute in place of the n95.

so the n96 should some around january or febuaray at the latest, probably $299 on contract

Comment 3 was talking about the DVB-H feature, not the actual phone.

AT&T has mobile TV; wouldn't that work on the N96 NAM?

AT&T never took in the N95, either.
