Through a recent press release, Nokia has announced the latest addition to their lineup, the 6260.

Nokia's 6260 will be the first Series 40 device to come with Nokia Maps and A-GPS for all your navigation needs.

The device supports Wi-Fi and global 3G frequencies (900/1900/2100 MHz) for fast internet browsing although only the 1900MHz band is supported by AT&T's network in the US. Nokia's Ovi service is also supported by the phone which is a good call as the new device comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera and flash so one can share pictures and videos. Users will be able to utilize the expandable microSD card slot for extra storage when it comes to media especially to listen to music through the 2.5mm jack or with the help of A2DP support for Bluetooth.

The new feature packed phone will have shortcuts on the home screen for web searches and to access various locations of interest for different users and along with this, the 360 degree navigation key will help in a user friendly internet experience.

With a high focus on the N-series and the E-series, this is a bold and long awaited move from Nokia to step up the game for their Series 40 phones.

Expect it to arrive in the market in early 2009 for EUR 299.

Wow, Nokia seems to be making a 5 megapixel standard for most of their phones! However, it doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a real bummer. I wonder when it will hit the US?

not bad looking. let's hope it lives up to expectation, unlike the 8800, which to me is the best of handsets yet full of sh*t as far as the battery is concerned.
