Nokia and Kodak sign deal to access patent portfolio

In a recent press release, Kodak and Nokia have gone into a mutual agreement which will allow either company to access the others patent portfolio. With being in accordance to each other, this is only part of the puzzle and no further details were sighted.

The deal is said to benefit both companies through sharing of information while the royalties from the agreement will only be inclined towards Kodak.

Could it be possible to see a high end camera for the N-Series or even a brand new series diverted to the camera sensitive audience? Only time will tell what these two giants, in their respective industries, have in-store for us.

WOW that is crazy Kodak is coming out on every phone first Motorola now Nokia I wonder what carrier is next?

Motorola and Nokia are not carriers they're manufacturers :P

Not as surprising as one may think, in a world where convergence of multiple tech devices is key to a technology manufacturers survival, they will often team up with another manufacturer who is a leading manufacturer in the device they wish to converge with. So Nokia good at making cell phones, Kodak good at making cameras, so if you want a killer camera phone put the two together :)

Sony on the other hand avoided this due to the fact they make fantastic cameras under Cyber Shot, so no need to partner with any camera company.

hmmm...i can see it now the NEW NOKIA EASY SHARE with 10 MP and an actual automatic retracting lens with digital zoom
