Nokia announced today, that its N95 8GB is the first cell phone to receive DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) certification. DLNA is a global partnership between 245 world renown brands, all working together to enhance customers’/users’ entertainment environment. This is achieved through creating a common connectivity platform for a variety of multimedia experiences. What this basically means, is that your DLNA certified home electronic devices, personal computers and now your Nokia N95 8GB, will be able to connect “conveniently and intuitively”. The phone has received a certificate for a Mobile Digital Media Server, which enables it to connect wirelessly and transmit media to other devices in the home environment.
