The Nokia XpressMusic is finally getting a much needed special surprise thanks to the highly-anticipated v40.2.005 firmware update that's being made available for the North American 3G variant of the handset. Although it brings forth some huge features, some argue that it should've been offered since day one of its release – it now features kinetic scrolling throughout the handset, auto-switch between numeric & QWERTY keyboards, and a new homescreen that's similar to the one seen on the 5530. The first one to get the new v40.2.005 firmware update will be the 5800 Navigation Edition (product code 0591814) and will eventually roll out to the generic 0577454 shortly. If the wait is a bit too long for your taste, you can simply change the product code on your Nokia smartphone and download the update through the Nokia Software Update tool. Maybe now it'll provide that high quality level that early adopters were eagerly looking forward to experience when it was first made available for sale.
