New mobile multimedia chip by Samsung

The Korean company announced its new S3C6410 mobile processor, which is designed for smartphones and navigation devices. The 667MHz Arm chipset has hardware video accelerator that supports multiple video formats, including MPEG4 and H.264. The S3C6410, supports various operating systems, including Symbian, Windows Mobile and Linux. It also uses less power to capture and replay video than others, which helps for a better battery life, of the device it is integrated with. The chip also supports different memory types, (DRAM and flash memory). The S3C6410 will be commercially available to manufacturers in Q3.
