Mozilla Firefox for mobile devices – scheduled for the beginning of 2008

The browser with the biggest usage increase at the web-browser market for the last years plans the introduction of a mobile version of Mozilla Firefox for an unspecified date after December 31, 2007. Intending to be flexible to the customers’ needs it will allow the developers to create their own extensions for the browser, using the FireFox’ user interface language (XUL). Whether the new Firefox will be turned into default browser for some manufacturers or will be uploaded for free download has not been declared yet. As a proof for Mozilla’s intentions comes the enlargement of the team, working on the project with former developers from leading network carriers. Despite the already existing market competitors, such as Opera and Internet Explorer, the members of Mozilla’s developers’ team are optimists for the future of their future product.
