Motorola i290 is SLIM iDEN for Sprint?

First official images of the new Motorola i290 are available on the manufacturer’s site. As the model begins with “i”, it is an iDEN phone and when/if it comes to the States, Sprint (ex Nextel) will be the carrier to go with. Most available images lack Sprint's logo and just one picture shows Telus (Canada) name, but we believe that the phone will be available for the public in the US, through Sprint.
Although Motorola i290 won’t be a miracle when it comes to functionality, it will be a rather cool phone, packing most of the PROS of an iDEN phone in a small and SLIM body with pocket-friendly dimensions. The currently available Sprint iDEN phones are all heavy and chunky with stub antennas, while i290 will be the phone for people who want more fashion-appeal in their device.
