Motorola debuts a trio of new phones

You are worried about Motorola’s future, aren’t you? It has been a while since the once-powerful manufacturer hasn’t released any interesting model, but the line-up for the beginning of 2009 will not be anything special as well. During the CES 2009 event, Moto will showcase a trio of phones it announced today.

As expected, the Motorola Renew is nothing but an “environmentally responsible” phone, with a housing made out of recycled plastic water bottles. It has eco-friendly design and packaging, but when it comes to features it is just your ordinary budget model for phone calls and text messages. Expect it with T-Mobile USA in the first quarter.

The Motorola Tundra VA76r is designed to withstand abuse, meeting US 810F Military Specifications. Although it is tough, this Push to Talk phone also has some features to offer, packing aGPS with AT&T Navigator, 3G, stereo Bluetooth and 2-megapixel camera. AT&T will offer it starting January 13th, for $200 after a $50 MIR and a two-year contract.

Last but not least, here is the Motorola SURF A3100, called „touch tablet”. This is the first Motorola Windows Mobile Professional smartphone, and like most of its rivals will come with personalized homescreen. We’d like to see the customization in other menus as well, but this will have to wait until CES in order to see what Moto has done. The A3100 is a global GSM/3G phone with Wi-Fi, GPS, 3-megapixel camera and 2.8” QVGA display. It will be available “in multiple markets” in Q1, but there is no word on the exact carrier availability.

wow

ugly, uglier and ugliest... the tundra is hilarious, looks exactly like a nextel, ugly and bulky. The Adventure is the way they should have went with the design.

The outside dislpay on the V750 is way to easy to break for anyone in the construction industry which are the main people that us any kinda of ptt service. My bro does HVAC work and they all had the v750 but switched to the Boulder because 4 guys crushed the external screen in the first week and another dropped his from a scaffolding and the the phone was done. They also needed something water resistant since they are outside from time to time plus he said no one could hear the alert on the phone when someone hit them up which was another reason they went with the new verion of the Boulder with the speaker on the outside. At least the v750 will hold up better that the i9 Sprint is launching which looks like it should be a Boost phone.

AT&T gets the Tundra...
But what carrier will get the SURF?

I dont know jyakotu, but if history repeats itself, then this is a touch screen Q and that cant be good ....I dont want it.

Amazing. Motorola has FAIL written all over it these days. Using old water bottles is a great thing though. I saw a special where this huge amount of plastic is pooling together in the pacific ocean, making it a plastic soup. Crazy

Just feel that Motorola should really revisit all its phone.. I like the old E398 but all the features cannot match up to its competitor at all. Others are already having GPS, DIVX, WIFI and 8MP. Non of its phone is up to this standard. and where is the slim razor designer.. Get over it and come out with another design.
