Motorola AURA is now available

As it was expected, Motorola now offers its luxurious model, the AURA. For the “modest” $2000 you will get a phone with circular 16 million color display, protected by a 62-carat sapphire crystal. It’s body is made out of stainless steel, with chemically etched textures and patters. The rotating mechanism is claimed to be of quality that high, that the 100,000th opening will be the same as the first one.  The AURA is a quad-band GSM with a 2-megapixel camera and 2 GB of internal memory. If you want it, you can get it from the Moto site.

worldwide, the economic crisis has hit every body. Why in the world would Motorola, who has been struggling greatly for the past few years themselves, make such an outrageously priced cell phone? Wouldnt it make more sense for this company especially to divest their time and resources into building a practical priced nice handset to try and gain some of their consumers back from other companies.

Obviously for the niche market, I would not pay $2,000 for that phone. I personally think it's ugly.

Wile I agree with the Godfather and it might not something that you or I would purchase, I think it's sole purpose it to compete with the other luxury handsets such as the Vertu...I personally like the looks of this better than the Vertu, just my 02.

wow Motorola is blind aren't they? Coming up with phones that no one is gonna buy, honestly who pays $2000 for a phone?! I know celebrities would rather have phones with full QWERTY keyboards than a phone with good looks but bad features.

OMG!.... I think we all agree on something!! Now we know what brings us ppl together. jk Seriously though, it sickens me sometimes cuz I realize that some of the money we spend for our lifestyle is funding these 'big wigs' lifestyles with crap like this.
