In our initial review we noted several problems we’ve had with the software, but the list just keeps growing and we are growing increasingly less patient...
I don't think the iphone sucks, it's just apple fanboys are so easy to hate. They are the equivalent to technology hipsters, so damn smug. The phone is innovative and the UI is great, but there is just alot of phones out there that do the same things and much better. Why can't everybody just tip their hat to the iphone, because it has pushed phones forward and ultimately the consumer across the board will win in the end.
You are so freakin blind! Half of Verizon phones kill iphone. Dare is so much more superior than iphone ever was or will be.

Anyone who thinks the lame DARE is better then the iPhone has never used the iPhone. I've used both and can tell you anyone who used an iPhone would HATE the dare.

Seriously, I have tired all Verizon phones and in the end, not even on looks they get to be close to the iPhone.. and i'm one that wanted to be with VZW over ATT.. I dont have the iPhone yet, but after messing with it a few times, not is much easier to use and type on it then I expected, but is easier to use then the Dare and Glyde phones..
The only one phone I would concider at this time over the iPhone would be the Samsung Instinct, but at this moment,, I am not a fan of Sprint at all, so getting hte Instinct for me is out of the question..

ive had the iphone canceled the service not even 30 days later and sold the phone i ebay yes it is a really nice phone great for the person on the go the down side its with at&t. im still with verizon with my envy the dare is a POS its looks cheap and feels cheap the touch screen is cheap atleast with the iphone u can tap the screen the dare u have to pound the screen. the good thing is by the end of 08 when the take over of alltel is complete (VZW is now the US largest cell phone provider) they will unlock there network to phones and apps that met there specs. this means u can get a samsung instinct and have it work on the verizon network. or any cdma phone.

That's a dumb comment. In addition to the iPhone troubles, at&t has what is consistently rated the worst coverage (or second worse, only beating Sprint) in the country.
What Verizon has better is reliable service that is consistently ranked the best in the country.
Have fun with your defective toy on a non-working network. Should be a blast! Just don't shoot yourself when you see how your phone will work for the next two years.

So by switching to the iphone you like:
- the ability to NOT put insurance on your iphone
- the ability to NOT download music OTA (over the air)
- the ability to NOT get a new or extended battery in a store
- the ability to be on a network with less coverage, more dropped calls, and second class customer service
- the ability to NOT have an actual QWERTY keyboard you can slide out or filp open
- the ability to be on a 3G network that is only available in large metropolitan areas
- the ability to be limited to WIFI areas if you want fast internet speeds
- the ability to NOT have removable/expandable memory
- the ability to NOT have actual turn-by-turn GPS on the go
- the ability to NOT have your defective iPhone worked on/switched out at your local store
-the ability to NOT "Hear Me Now?"

actually bud i've had plenty of customers who actually were currently using the iPhone and switched to the dare because of lockups, reception issues on the handset, and stability. I also used the IPhone myself and i do admit that it is the best touchscreen by far but im not going to sacrifice getting a good touchscreen over all the other services that phone cannot offer and the dare can.
Its all about what you need, if all you care about is how accurate and versitile ur touchscreen is get the iphone, if you care about service, speed, and reliability with an okay touchscreen get the Dare, not to mention working bluetooth features.

Dont get me wrong Apple makes great products, I personally have the MACBOOK AIR and an iPod Touch, i just dont want to be on a second-class network.
The iphones internet browser is second-to-none, but the network is second-to-verizon and albeit a very distant second.

...mmm try any windows mobile device? im sorry that it doesn't have a flashy UI but it gets the job done. And at least you can get a WM Device without being charged for 3g and data requirements :)

Exactally - The ATT Tilt, which is better than the iPhone of course, is only $199 now, same as the iPhone 3G. It's a much better phone technically speaking and with all the add-ons and mods it becomes an even better phone aesthetically.
The defense rests.

Oh my word that comment just goes to show how blinkered the Apple Kool-aid drinkers are!!!!!!
Blackberry and Windows Mobile has been providing the features that Apple still haven't got right for more than 7 years!
Also due to the large and mature developer community you can add any skin to the device you like, just take a look at the demo here http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/?en
And if you really like the Apple UI I strongly recommend here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEQ7oo4U7nE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392985
I think the IPhone UI is great but it ain't worth $1,800 over 2 years with the bugs etc
On top of this in terms of features it is still playing catchup
It still has a low megapixel camera, there are tons of posts complaining about lockups and synchronisation errors where data is lost !!! It has only just started providing 3G and true GPS, there is no Video conferencing, No memory card slot, can't change the battery, screen rotation works only on a subset of the IPhone programs!! No Bluetooth A2DP Stereo Headset support!
I have had HSDPA and GPS for over a year, syncin'g email......pleeeaase...6 years and counting and there are many more but I won't go on.
However the screen is amazing and the GUI is great but as I can add any GUI I like and am not locked into ITunes etc I'd stick with something like the Samsung Omnia
The Samsung Omnia has so many more features than any other Windows Mobile Phone out there so it kicks the IPhone into the dust on the functionality stakes
16GB internal with upto 16GB memory card support (that's upto 32GB of storage!!!)
Worlds first DivX certified phone!!!
Xvid/H.263/H.264/WMV/MP4 support
5 megapixel camera CMOS camera with a host of semi professional features!!!
TV out
GPS
HSDPA 7.2Mbps
3.2" screen
True screen rotation in all programs
Video recording with a host of semi professional editing features!!!
FM Radio with RDS
Bluetooth with Headset A2DP support
Office document support
WiFi
Decent battery 1400mAh
Alec

Well um let's see Nokia N95,N96,N82,Samsung Omnia,Innov8, HTC Diamond etc.
I use the HTC Tilt/TyTn II/Kaiser... This phone has a touch screen, it has Google Maps, I downloaded a 3rd party flash video player to it so I can watch everything YouTube and other sites have to offer, it has real GPS (not tower triangulation like the iPhone), I don't have to sync anything to it, but my Outlook contacts, I can play any music format I want because I just copy it to my SD card via a card reader and then pop it into the phone, it has a 3 megapixel camera (which is evern weak now, but still better than iPhone's, and oh yeah--I can send multimedia messages (you know, that function that's been on pretty much every phone since late 2002, but still is not on the iPhone). iPhone rules? Sure it does, it rules all of the world's weak-minded sheep that are hypnotized and fooled by marketing instead of researching functionality and user friendliness. You know who has an iPhone? The same clowns that have iPods. Please tell me how your PC-syncing, data losing, letting another company spy on your hard drive (iTunes), iPod/iPhone could ever be better than my USB mass storage, drag and drop, DivX/XviD playing, half the cost Creative Zen.

HHAHAHAHAHHA!!! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD SUCH BOLLOX FROM SUCH SHALLOW TECH CLUELESS GULLABLE FOOLS!!! - they surely deserve being FLEECED sensless by Apple
