I have had my rhythm for quite some time now, never had a single problem with it. until just recently. all of the sudden it decides it wants to constantly shut off and on on its own. if im texting/talking or anything else with the phone, its perfectly fine. but when i shut it, it begins powering on and off on its own and i cant stop it. overall i love the phone, i just wish it wanted to stay on. :(

Ok i got this phone for a Christmas gift this year. I got it from my mom cause im still on her plan with US CELLULAR. she took me to our local store n wen i went to pick it out the lady said it was a new phone n if theres any problem we can bring it back but no one has had a problem yet. So my mom buys the phone n it worked great for a month. after that my main problem was the vibrating. It has this sound sorta lyk a phone off a hook. after that the vibrating fot weaker and weaker. then it stopped completely. then the vibrating would go on n off. i finally got to take it to the store to get it fixed another lady typed a couple of codes n the problem wouldnt show itself so my fone didnt reall back me up there. now the vibrating stopped working agian. n the signal is ok n i hav to charge my fone every nite cuas ei text so much. the touch screen is awsome but the bottons wont work sometimes. this is my second phone iv eva had n it just so happens to b with US CELLULAR n im goin to try n talk to my mom bout gettin outa it. the fone over all is ok i havent had any more problems wit it n im gonna send it in to get fixd n they better fix it caus eif they dont im gonna demand i new fone that doesnt take 5 minutes to send a single text sometimes. if u can avoid it dont buy this fone it the black LG rythm wit us cellular.

I really like this phone. I do however have the same problem as far as it shuts itself off, but I have had  most of my phones do that at one pont or another. The only glitch I have found is that when you are sending a new text and you go to contacts it says no contacts to add. it has done that to me about six times. i love the features and the touch menu and as far as everyone saying they dont get calls and text mess that is your cell phone provider not your phone. I have us cellular and as with everyone else who does on the review list i have none of those problems. The battery is weak i agree with that it could be stronger but overall great phone!

ok im getting a new lg rhythm monday, one of which the company is sending me in the mail. the crazy part about this story is that this will be the sixth one i've had since january 3.  i love the phone and everything its a hot phone but i cant get a signal for nothing. the bar just keeps jumping from about 4 bars to no bars at all. i can even be outside and still not receive a signal. i miss all of my calls, i dont receive text until about a day later. sometimes i even just have to sit there and call 611 or my voicemail just so my bars will go up enough to receive a text. i refuse to pay a bill for a phone that i cant receive phone calls on or text in a timely fashion. everything else about the phone is cool except the fact that when i had the white one, everytime i would text the numbers 437 in that order, the phone would cut off. yea they really need to do a recall on this phone, or just do something about the signal cause i really dont want any other phone. i want my rhythm!!!!....

oh yeah, my last one was perfect with everything, signal too. it just cut off on me one day while i was charging it and when i tried to turn it back on, it just went to the alltel screen and wouldn't go past that.

I have had the pink one from US Cellular since last November.  Please people do not waste your money on this phone.  It shuts off by itself, the text messaging is all messed up - if you have not gone into your contacts at least once after turning phone off it says there are no contacts to add, the music player is fine until you try to create a playlist and it deletes itself after adding a few songs.  I took mine in to the tech and showed him exactly all the problems - which he was impressed that they repeated themselves so he could see them.  Does USC really care that I have a phone with so many bugs - no.  Does LG - no.  So now I have this phone sitting in a drawer because I got so annoyed with it and am using my v3m.  I will never buy another LG and staying with US Cellular after the crappy response I have gotten with tech support is less than desirable.  If your phone is having any issues please contact tech repair because the more phone that have problems the quicker a fix might come out or a recall all together.  Don't wait and think that your phone will get better - it won't so go in and make sure that they know what is wrong with your phone.

26. Phone seems great until the software bugs show themselves

I got this phone as a gift in January and I loved it in the beginning.  Although I still like the phone overall, reality has set in.  The Rhythm is extremely buggy and I will have to deal with some annoying traits by keeping this phone. 

The phone frequently crashes and shuts off with no warning.  When I power it back on the phone beeps every minute for about 10 minutes and quickly flashes random error messages such as "Message Receipt Failed!" or "Data is locked!".  I resolved the "Data is locked" error by reducing all security settings and turning off the call mapping application; however, other errors still occur several times a week.

I also noticed that the battery charge indicator is crap.  I even bought a new battery because I assumed I just got a dud.  With both batteries, the indicator stays at a full charge until the charge drops to almost 0%.  I get about five minutes of warning that the phone is no longer at 100% charge and is about to die.  This happens whether I'm actively using the phone or it's sitting on my bed stand.

27. WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER USED, DO NOT BUY!

I got my LG Rhythm in October, started having problems about 2 weeks after it was activated (or at least that's when I started noticing them).  DO NOT expect this phone to keep up with you if you text a lot, sometimes I get messages hours and hours after people send them, and as others stated, it takes forever to send texts, sometimes my texts just fail and won't send, sometimes I have to actually make an outgoing call to get my texts--while I'm on the phone I magically receive 10 texts all at once, the touch keys stick, the wheel sticks, the internet browser sucks and gives me error messages all the time, I get random voicemails at 3am without my phone ever ringing, and it turns itself off.  I have alltel, so when I first started having problems I took it into the store, they gave me another phone through the mail (it's called an XBM).  So far, I have done a total of 4 XBMs and every single phone had the same problems.  Finally, my dad, who is the administrator of our account called technical service and demanded them to give me a different model of phone, they refused until he threatened to take our local alltel store to court.  It is now March 13th and I am finally getting my new phone on monday, probably a samsung because I never want to look at another LG phone EVER again.

28. I Really Don't Have a Clue...

I purchased this phone with my Christmas holiday as a Christmas/ New Years present to myself. I got the phone on New Years Eve. I chose the Pink LG Rhythm from U.S. Cellular. I am on my mother's plan and she has been with this company for about as long as cell phones have existed. I first started having problems with my phone 3 days after my 30 day trial that U.S. Cellular has for their customers. The problem was my phone was contantly messing up and beeping saying "files are locked" and all I could do to get it to work was take the battery out. I couldn't even turn it off with the power button. Well, this problem stopped and I figured all was well so I didn't take the phone into the company. Then about a week or so later the touch screen just stopped working. Same problem. I could turn the phone off and on and it would still not work. So, yet again removing the battery but instead I couldn't just place it back in the phone had to sit anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. When I sent the phone to LG they sent it back to my cell phone comany with "pictures" proving that I had water damage to my phone. Funny thing is I never dropped this phone in any water or even had it near any kind of liquid. So yeah, I have a feeling that LG just doesn't want to fix my phone. When I asked why the water damage sticker was not a different color they stated "there is one on the outside and another on the inside and you have water damage inside the phone that came in through your speaker. So, I would not reccomend this phone at all unless you are really patient or careful (and have a good phone comapny). I love the phone and I want mine back but right now I am going through a horrific process just to have one that works. The sales associate that my mother uses at our local US Cellular is working with her managers now to try and get me another Rhythm. I have had this loaner phone now for close to a month when for the company to tell me I had water damage it should not have taken this long. Today is March 10, 2009 and the phone was sent in the morning on February 16, 2009. Good luck with this phone if you decide to purchase it. It's a great phone unless you have one of the unlucky ones that want to mess up.

29. Great little phone

Easy and fast interface, great MP3 player, has a "coolness" feature with lights that other phones lack.  It doesn't do anything spectacular besides music, but it does what it does excellent.  It's only locked up on me once since I've had it.  The included headphones are great.

30. Biggest Joke on the Market

Ok seriously some people must not know what a PHONE is.



  1. Antenna is HORRIBLE, you're LUCKY to ever get signal.

  2. Texts take anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours to be recieved on this phone, even when sent from 5 feet away.

  3. Phone seems to enjoy encrypting text messages for no apparent reason.

  4. Mic must really suck, as nothing short of yelling into it allows people to hear you.

  5. Constant and yet totally random shut offs. Especially when sliding the phone shut or resending failed text.

  6. Battery life is TERRIBLE.

  7. Vibration is horrible, as you're lucky to feel it IF it even vibrates.

  8. Your lucky if the touch buttons work EVERY time you use them.


As a music player it is average, as a phone, it sucks. I went in after the Rockr, they tried to talk me into a Blackberry, I chose this. I made a mistake. I am trying to find a way to get rid of this piece of junk. Seriously it is the WORST phone I've EVER had. Liked it the first 3 days, then I actually had to use it. Now 3 months later I am regretting ever having seen it.
