big design flaw

I purchased the phone because I liked the display - and still think it is great. First, I'll admit I don't give a wrap about all the media playtoys and want basic functions (call, text, phone # and addresses, ring settings atc.) that are intuitive.

I'm ready to chuck it though because of it's irritating camera. The key is located on the right external "non flip" part of the phone body. A place where a person would normally hold when making a call or using the keypad. I frequently have to free up memory because I have so many photos of the inside of my purse. THE BIG FLAW IS THAT IT CAN'T BE TURNED OFF!

The battery life isn't so great to begin with on the LG1400 camera use will drain it even faster.

Functions or menu configuration can not be personalized. The 1st feature selected at the menu is MEDIA NET, then scroll up to MEDIA MALL, GAMES and APPS next and FINALLY to the MESSAGES and RECENT CALLS (I thought that was the primary purpose of a phone).

The free ringtone selection is like going throught a salad bar that has been sitting out for 24 hours. Of course you can shop till you drop MEDIA MALL since you'll probably visit for a decent ringtone anyway.

If you want to surf the net, IM and play games it is probably a decent choice.

If calling and messaging is higher on your list I recommend you pass on the LG1400.

ok saying that the phone has no problems...you guys got problems...one the design of the phone is terrible because the silver part gets all scratched up after 2 weeks...but thats the least of the problems...after using the camera maybe 3 times a purple and blue bar goes acrosss the top of the screen...unableing you from seeing the size of the picture hoe much memory you have left and what settings are on...the phone lacks an outside speaker...so when you receive a call. you can hardly hear the ringtone because the speaker is muffled by being closed upon...the phone is slow...it freezes, and the battery life is like for 2 days for us serious talkers...the antenna is so big but so bad it hardly works anywhre over than outside in the open...so many problems i could go on and on...want to know more..ask and ill give it to you....wouldnt reccommend its a piece of junk

I have had my phone since October 2004. I really like it, main reason is the outside display. I dont get good reception and it doesn't stay charged very long.
