ooops sorry, I meant the Globus is a flip phone not a candybar phone as it states in the specs.

2. LG Globus- cheap and cheerful

I recently purchased the Globus from Rogers on a hardware update. I am a big fan of LG phones because they are relatively simple and very reliable. I also own a year old LG VU. The only real difference between the two phones are the screen size-VU is bigger- and the touchscreen- also only on the VU. The Globus also lacks the virtual qwerty keyboard which was way too small for my fingers anyway. Globus is also tri band HSDPA, and can make and receive video calls.
All the other features are present on the Globus for a lot less money, Obviously it is a flip phone, not a clamshell, so it is smaller and lighter than the VU, and has a much faster UI. The Rogers version is push email capable using Rogers Mobilemail for Rogers, Yahoo and Windows Live. The internal display is very bright, the menus are logical and easy to negotiate, and the reception and sound quality are first rate
The Globus is touted as an entry level phone, but don't let its low price fool you. It has all the features of the VU for half the price, and although it may not be an Iphone or a Blackberry, its all that most normal people need in an everyday communication device.
Five out of five stars from me.
great sound and reception
big keypad keys
easy peasy menu setup
really thin and light
really inexpensiveinternal screen could be bigger
camera not that great
3G battery life always short
