Does anyone know if there are any updates for making the ringer louder. The bad thing about this phone is you can't hear the ringer.

They’ve solved the issue of low ringing in the phone. Go to settings in your menu click on phone information, then to number 5 software update and in 5 minutes you have the problem solved.

to clear up the confusion. cell phone companies have to be categorized in one of two categories. either metropolitian or rural. Alltel is considered rural. therefore it works better in rural areas. however to provide the largest network they have teamed up with sprint (who is considered metro). Now wherever you go you will have coverage either through alltel's network or sprint. no other companies (eg. AT&T, Verizon, TMobile) that i am aware of ahve thought to team up with rural companies to provide a larger network. Alltel does provide awesome coverage. even though their selection of phones isn't the best... its worth it to have service everywhere you go

A PIECE of "JUNK". first it was the MP3 functions quit, Now the touch screen work when it wants to not when I need it. No way close to being an IPhone. Get a cheep phone you will be much more happier. I don't think I will ever buy a LG product.

My wife and I both have had the Glimmer since it came out this spring. The touch screen can sometimes be a problem and doesn't work. I can push everything (while unlocked of course) and nothing will happen or I'll push a button and the wrong thing will come up. Her slider has become a problem and it delays when she opens it. She's lost some phone calls because it takes so long to answer after she opens it. It's becoming a pain with both problems.

I have had Alltel since 2000 previously had Verizon, my daughter has AT &T. I dont know where you live but Alltel far out performs those two networks. My daughters service is random to day the least, it goes in and out, after trying several different phones there is no mistake it is their network. Verizon did not have much of a coverage area though they claim to have the largest, I had no service areas in many locations. I have never had any problem with Alltel coverage area or service. The few issues I have had with them have been about equipment and they have been resolved with no major problems. I am about to renew my contract and am going to get the Glimmer. Will let ya'll know how it works for me. (Like anyone cares, LOL)
