This phone is ugly as sin, but the built in bluetooth headset is a very big convenience. It's nice to see LG go with a little more functionality than style for once in a while. Don't get me wrong, all LG phones are good in their own respect, but this is just a little breath of fresh air considering all the touch screen and iPhone competition going on right now. However, this phone, nor any other phone Verizon has is enough for me to give up Sprint.

I love LG phones and have so since the vx3100 from waaayyyy back. It's about time VZW released this phone. I just hope the BT earpiece that's included isn't some generic piece of garbage ( I'm gonna get the Jawbone 2 anyways ). But speaking of "ugly" phones; Sprint has that market sewed up. You say this isn't enough to give up Sprint? Sprint???!!! Are you kiddin'? Two cups and a string is enough for me to leave Sprint.
HAHAHAHAHA "two cups and a string". Its awesome how true that is. PLEASE tell me what sprint has that you love so much. I'm DIEING to know. Is it the "Going out of bussiness sale" prices? Or the push-to-talk technology they were required by the fed government to retire 4 months ago?

Our first and worst phone was LG. It was the worst phones we've ever gotten for our Verizon service. We went to Motorlola and won't look back.

Its so weird to me to hear something like that. I work at VZW and I see first hand what phones come back. The single strongest brand HANDS DOWN is LG. The single most hated brand, and I mean HATED brand is motorola. Some reps won't even sell the Krazr for fear it will be the reason the customer leaves the company lol
As VZW rep myself, I can tell you that LG has been the best seller since I've been there. Take away the Chocolate ( vx8500 ) and vx 8600, and you have a reliable line of devices. The vx8100 and vx8700 lacked good battery life, but it wasn't anything an Extended Battery couldn't handle. Other than that, the phones were fine. Motorola is a close second to LG but they have really slipped in the past few years. The E815 was their last truly "GREAT" phone. Since then, it's been a lot of "pretty boy" phones that seem to be plagued with issues ( like the Razr and Krazr ). The W385 is OK but the whole "Razr" line has been OVER-DONE ( Razr, Krazr, Razr Maxx, Razr 2, Rizr, Rokr ... you name it ). Motorola is EASILY second to LG ... and they're only second because Samsung is just getting started by releasing phones that are actually good as PHONES.

Motorola phones aren't that bad. But it is hard to be better than a super-company like LG. They have soo many more phones out than Motorola, they better be better.
Yea, I work at the VZW call center... I refuse to sell the Razr or the Krzr to anyone who asks. I'll do everything I can to talk them out of it. It's pretty bad...

Anyone sayiong they would avoid a maker of phones is just clueless
sure you got a crappy LG, I had a crappy LG, blackberry, motorola, samsung, sanyo, and HTC in my time as a cell phone user.
but to think that becaus eyou had "A" bad phone the rest of the brand's cars are crap is like thinking because a crappy ford focus you once bought means the GT40 would also be crap.
it just doesn;t make sense.
if you want to avoid a sub brand I.E. chocolate, I would avoid a chopcioolate like the plague, but the 8700 was great, the 8300 has been good, the 325 was crap from motorola, however the Z6 is a great device...and so on and so forth. for every ying there is a yang, but every time I hear somebody say to me or read on a blog that trhey avoid an entire brand, you INSTANTLY go into the clueless consumer bucket, and until proven otherwise, you will stay there for a long time. right next to "hey, can I get a whopper" at the mcdonalds drive thu guy. don't be that guy, do some research, it's the internet age, and belive me it's out there.

Yeah, I TOTALY agree with what you just said, only with WAY better punctuation and spelling.
So i got the new lg 8610 yesterday and i love it it does indeed have the bluetooth headset that charges on the back of the phone and also it plays music out of the bluetooth headset i love it they should have added a html browser and a auto focus camera and it would be better but over all the phone is great

Is it the brushed silver finish like in the original pictures or the glossy/glassy finish like in the pictures above?
So wait...the phone is going to have a glossy finish? It's not gonna have the brushed silver finish like the original pictures (kinda like the LGvx-8700)??? Damn I was hoping it would have been silver...I'm getting tired of all these fingerprint magnets and their glossy/glassy finish
How is the speakerphone if you choose not to use the bluetooth?

the speaker phone works good and its a glossy finish definetly a fingerprint magnet the headset works great and it also give u a cover for the back in case u dont want to always have the bluetooth headset in the back
Hmm so not sure about the people claiming to have the phone and that their's is glossy black like in the pictures. I've spoken to quite a few people and they all have said that the phone is silver with the blue back...even the VZ rep said it's silver. Looks like somebody is lying
