i tried ordering the DARE early since CS has been known to allow that and the rep said he would give me free overnight shipping. So just ask for it and you shall receive. Also worth a shot, I have not had a phone that worked with vcast so I asked for a free month of it to try it out and the rep put on my account for a free month of the vcast service with no charge.

Cool, hope the touch screen is decent
I have a BB pearl, my gf has a enV. that thing is a big fat brick. i always hoped while i was at the bank a robber would come in and hold up
the place. then i could reach in my gf's purse and grab and enV and throw it at the bank robbers head, saving the day ;)

hey, yet another dummy maybe I'm incorrect but on the iphone you can send anyone a pic and there is no video at all and as far as the stuff that is so important to you you should have a pda not the dare or the iphone and how can any compare the iphone when the simplest feature like changing your own damn battery is impossible without voiding your warranty. Go to an at&t sit and lick balls with everyone else addicted to the second best network!!

Wow this could have been an awesome phone but it is still missing basic features, why can't they put in an email client on one of there phones, instead of nickel and diming to have that mobile email get it now application for $5 nokia, sony ericsson, and others have always built them in. What good is it to have a 3.2 megapixel camera if you can't even send that big of a file and no picturebridge so your pics can be synced with your computer automatically and only 5 numbers per contact so you can't store home or work addresses, how do you want people to keep using navigator when you can't store addresses for you contacts to navigate to. Are we suppose to carry around a pencil and paper when someone gives us there address. It is just these simple stuff that makes me pissed off how anyone can even compare this to an Iphone.

agreed above me...this isnt made to be like some super smart phone..its a high end consumer phone...i dont really think there trying to kill iphone with this becuase anyone with a decent amount of common sense knows that something that will take on iphone will take alot more then what this offer

the iphone is not a god. it's just an overpriced phone that everyone wants because of the price and name. I prefer my winmo because at least I can download other applications for it.

I agree that Verizon has a much better network. My teacher had the old iphone and she had three consecutive calls dropped in the middle of class. And it was very annoying because she had to keep going back to her desk to try to answer. That's one reason why I agree tha the iphone is not a god like all the apple fanboys believe.

With that said, I'm still probably going to leave my voyager and be in line on July 11th for the new iphone. I bought the Voyager because Verizon said it was better than the iphone. That was a total lie. It was just faster than the iphone. But now I'm not taking the same chances with the Dare. I know service is more important, but if all that mattered was the network then why would all these companies try packing all these features inside new phones. But I'd never even think about going to AT&T if they didn't have the iphone.

and personally, I don't want the iphone because of the name. I've never had anything apple before. I really don't like ipods because they feel so unnecessary. I don't have the computers because I like pc's better. And if the iphone 3g is overpriced, then why would people want the iphone because of "the name and the price" like you stated.

Are you stupid? The new iphone is going to have an app store with more applications than windows mobile phones have ever had! And at $200 with a 2yr contract, that's a lot cheaper than a lot of winmo phones out there. That's all I've got to say, didn't mean to talk about the iphone more on an LG announcement, I just have to point out stupidity when I see it.

You are obviously uninformed. I just have to point out stupidity when I see it. You really think the App store will have more applications than windows mobile ever had??? The Windows mobile PocketPC was released in April of 2000. It not only have 8 years of support, but thousands upon thousands of applications for it. The iPhone has yet to even remotely be close to that. The count right now is at about two. Don't call other people stupid after you say something stupid yourself.

Yes it will be Rev A at launch. I will remind everyone in this thread that you cannot compare the iphone 3g with this phone as the iphone 3g is a PDA and this is a consumer handset. Two different leagues, NOT competing with each other.

Full retail is 409.99, 2-yr is 250.00, and 1-yr. I'm assuming will be 299.99 or 316.99. But there's also the $50 online discount if you order it from verizonwireless.com

If you buy the Dare in the store, you will receive a $50 mail-in rebate so ultimately the phone is the same price whether you buy in online in a store.

Wait, so will it be possible to send pics taken on the 3.2 meg camera as pix messages? I mean, if not it kind of makes the entire camera worthless...thoughts please! Also, do you think that it will have a T9/iTAP text entry function?

yes it will, the phone makes a copy and re sizes the pic before sending it

thats retarted though. you have to resize each time before you want to send a picture. sounds a little inconvenient

you don't have to resize it, the phone does all that in the background. sames speed as sending a regular pix message.

I'm curious how it is worthless to have a 3.2 meg camera that won't send 3.2 pix msgs? Not saying that it doesn't, but if it didn't, it would still be nice to have the option for the higher res to take a pic of something you would like to print out via bluetooth....

Every LG phone I've had through Verizon for the last two years have been able to print via Bluetooth. This includes the original Chocolate, enV, VX8700, and the newer Chocolate. It would be safe to assume that this LG phone will have that same basic capability. Also, I have been able to transfer the pictures via Bluetooth with my Mac. If your computer doesn't have Bluetooth, there is always the memory card that you can utilize. Hope this helps..

I have a Flipshot 3.0MP. It DOES email me my pictures at full 3MP resolution. I actually use it occassionally as an impromptu camera so I can email co-workers pictures of parts during online meetings.
I see no reason an extra .2 megapixels would cause it not to send. I'm more curious about the VGA video.

since when is it illegal to actually LOOK at the pictures on ur phone? um it isnt... maybe thats why Lg stuck a nice 3.2meg camera on there with a very nice lenz... so u can enjoy the pics on ur phone..
ya know god forbid the picture of some guy playing beer pong or thet topless pic of some girl floating around school isnt in the sharpest of quality!
dont be so damn nit picky and enjoy the nice phone Verizon actualy has for once??

I have the Flipshot and it DOES NOT send pics at the full 3 MP resolution. It copies and resizes the pic then sends it.

Yeah it's only pressure sensitive. My friend has the voyager and texts using the eraser on his pencil and some rubber thing on his keychain lol. No heat there.
