LG Dare Review

LG has been a leader in the touchscreen non-smart phone market since 2007 with their introduction of the PRADA GSM model in Europe. Since then, they have developed and released additional touchscreen phones, such as the Voyager, Glimmer, Vu, and Viewty; each with their own unique features. The newest device to be released is the Dare, which is available through Verizon Wireless...

!!!!!!Does the LG Dare use pressure for touch and the Apple phone uses electricity? I heard that(I don't know if true), but what's the difference?

what you heard is true. The iphone uses a capacitive touch screen which senses electrical changes on the surface of the screen. You don't need to apply any pressure, just lightly touching the screen with your finger is sufficient, however, it will not register things like a gloved hand or a stylus. The Dare and Voyager both use a resistive touch screen which senses changes in pressure, to the screen, and hence you you have to apply a little more "touch" to these kinds of screen, and thus you can use a gloved hand or a stylus for these kinds of screens. If you're not sure which one you prefer, I suggest you try out both the dare and the iphone at a store. The screen on the iphone is the same as the one on the ipod touch. Most people tend to agree that the iphone/ipod touch screen is superior and more accurate. Hope that helps.

Pros:
Light, Small and Compact.
Good Battery Life
Good Signal with a Fast Browser
Rubberized back for good grip

Cons:
Texting is hard to get good at for some people like me
Low light produced for backlight(glare)
Sometimes people complain of not being able to hear me.
Video camera has a blue tint problem in high speed.

This is one of the best phones released for verizon network. The touchscreen is amazingly accurate especially coming from the voyager which touchscreen sucks in accuracy. So they really improved it when making this phone. Multi-tasking music player is also a plus when your on those bored days with nothing to do besides texting. Some things that need to be worked on are some of the glitches that the phone produces such as the phone restarting when doing something such as scrolling through text messages on the phone but you can fix this by resetting the phone which I found out on http://LG-Dare.com. But I believe the restarting problems can be fixed in a firmware update. But the phone has alot of tricks and features which you might not figure out until a couple of days after you get the phone. I know LG made a site( http://www.lgmobilephones.com/phone.aspx?id=8712 ) thats basically a picture manual for the LG Dare and it really helped learn the phone also.

How can I save my contact on my LG envy to a LG Dare(sim card?)

The Dare and Env do not support Sim cards. Those are for GSM type phones which VZW does not use, except for the Global Blackberry and Moto Z6c world edition phones. But even those phones don't use the Sim card for contacts.

Both the Dare and Env, however, support VZW's BREW/Get it Now application Backup Assistant to backup and transfer your contacts.

Does the LG Dare work with Microsoft Exchange Server

No. But you can use the BREW/Get It Now application Wireless Sync for email, or Mobile Email for POP 3 email accounts.

Ok, I've read in several posts that the mobile tv was not supported for Dare. Is this software or hardware or both? With all the features that dare has, why leave off the mobile TV. I have it now on my voyager and it's great for getting live news. is there a verizon rep here that can answer this?

I have only had my LG Dare for a few days. I love it so far but the battery seems to run down quickly compared to my old cell phone. I wonder if it could have been old? I like to keep it on most of the day for business, maybe that is too long. I did lose conact once from my home. I guess it takes a while to get used to change. I want a cover for back and clear for front to protect it. Kept my other one in a case but it was a flip top. I don't know if the navigation is worth it. The main reason I wanted the Dare was I had to hold the other phone close and makeup got into the keys. You can keep the touch screen clean and no embarresment! Gift from Husband.
