Is the Land Rover S1 the world's toughest phone?

The device is manufactured by Sonim and is equipped with a 2MP camera, FM Radio, an Opera browser for viewing mobile sites and an extra loud ring tone so as to be heard above the din of the construction vehicles that this phone was born to be used near. In the U.K., the phone was launched Thursday by Tesco at a price of 249.99 British Pounds. They are so sure that the handset is unbreakable that they are offering an unconditional three year guarantee. However, the London based tabloid "The Sun" finally found something stronger than the S1. The phone was crushed and destroyed by a 3 ton forklift truck. As long as you keep your unit away from forklift trucks, you should be able to keep your phone for a long time.
Back in April, we reported on the S1's successful trip through the halls of the FCC, but there has been no word of an appearance of the self titled 'World's Strongest Phone' for the U.S. market.
