Hands-on with i-mate's Ultimate line

This is i-mate’s Ultimate line. First, at 3GSM 2007, were announced five models, and in the end of the year two more were added. Since three of them were canceled, now they total four and we have them all here...

9502 = Sidekick, 8502 = Dash, and 8150 = RIM Pearl. People may hate finger print marks, but they hate dull black more.

I picked up the 8502 from Clove Tech 3 days ago, upgrading from a Ubiquio 503G, Nokia E61, and an XV6700. This 8502 is absolutely the nicest PPC phone I've ever owned. The E61 had better call & build quality and larger keyboard, but that's it. The feature set and keyboard on the 8502 is FAR superior to any other phones that I've checked out in the past few years. imate also has a great support website for OTA phone management, including remote wipe and phone lock (free of charge). I would like to see SDHC support and a Video call camera would have been nice but this device is still the total package for me.

The design is definitely plain, but aren't most PPC phones the same ( except diamond ). Specs are quite impressive. Any info about the pricing ? i would really love to get my hands on one of the NVIDIA powered ones

From Clove, you'll pay $700 (includes shipping) and receive it via DHL, in 2 Business days.

with winblows 6.0/6.1 OS..as usual expect..freezing, crashing, restarting bugs as usual..I will stick to my BB Curve 8310..in the past I have had $1,000 cellphones from Imate..same garbage...different look of garbage...if only Imate would develope Linux OS or use BB OS in their phones..situation would be different.

The phone's interior sucks and they are all rickety... Pretty much toys, but the interface and software were stable and nice... But not great.
