Hands-on with Palm Centro for Sprint

The Palm Centro is the newest Palm OS device, and is available from Sprint now. After the breakout success of the Treo 600 the Treo line has undergone several model revisions, but only minor cosmetic changes and the lineup had gotten stale. The Centro is a whole new device, by far the smallest offering from Palm to date and marks a much needed shift in Palm’s thinking. While the Centro design is all new, the device still runs the tried and true Palm OS. With features including a 1.3mp camera, a full QWERTY keyboard, Sprint TV and Pocket Tunes deluxe this “entry level” smartphone is aimed at the 18-25 market. The $99 price point should make it plenty tempting, but will these tweeners adapt?
