Hands-on images of the Moto Napoleon and the CDM8975 for Verizon

advertisment:
We have a few hands-on images, sent by one of our readers, depicting the new Motorola Q9, code-named Napoleon, and the Verizon Wireless CDM8975.

The Napoleon is the upcoming addition to the Q9 series of Motorola that will be available from Verizon. It is a hybrid device, meaning that it’ll boost both GSM and CDMA connectivity. To be more precise, the Napoleon will utilize a dual-band CDMA and a quad-band GSM support, which makes it a good alternative for the Samsung Saga. Its other features are pretty standard for a smartphone actually, including a QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi. What's very interesting about it, however, is that it packs a fingerprint sensor, the purpose of which is to contribute for the safety of your information, stored in the device. It will run the Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard operating system.

We still do not have any official release dates from the manufacturer, but these pictures here are giving us some hope that we will see it soon enough.

Coming next, we have some shots of the Verizon Wireless CDM8975. This clamshell device is now available with Big Red and offers some modest specifications, including a 2-inch display, 1.3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth.

As far as i knew, the Q9N "Napolean" was cancelled by VZW. There are a bunch out there though... :)
It is a great phone - the swiss army knife of smartphones really. Hopefully they do release it!

I didn't believe the Q9 was good because of all the issues read about it's predecessor but my BM has had her's for a year with no problems

I was the one who submitted the pictures and trust me guys, i too hope this unit sees the light of day. (im a iPhone user and I still stand by this statement) The phone feels rock soilid and the UI transitions seemlessly from screen to screen. In the short time I had to play around with it, the phone seems like a nice improvement over the previous Moto Qs

Yep - it's rock solid (probably the best Win Mo Std 6.1 platform around), but will never see broad distribution. There are several hundred in the wild and that's it.

It looks like a nice phone. I have plenty of customers that just don't want a touchscreen, so it'll be nice to have altnernatives.

Does anyone know why this phone was tossed in the junk pile? I seriously hope it comes out because, like jskrenes said, I have a bunch of customers that hate touch screen phones and would love this device.
