HTC Touch CDMA Review

Verizon Wireless XV6900 Review

Sprint’s HTC Touch is great, there are no two ways around it. The form-factor is amazing, it fits in the hand perfectly and is small enough to fit in a pocket comfortably. The increased memory meant it handled everything we threw at it and kept on chugging. The device strikes the perfect balance between size and usability. The lack of a physical keypad was a non-issue, and there are a myriad of accessories and adapters included with the phone. The flexibility of Windows Mobile means that the user can truly personalize their phone, whether it be as simple as a new look or as advanced as a complete overhaul of the device. We liked this device so much that this reviewer purchased one for himself, and I can’t think of a more ringing endorsement.

All I have to say about the Touch is that it is great...Hands down! I did have it all of a sudden freeze up on me when I wasn't even using it? so far the battery is good I only have to charge it once a day ( thats great for a PDA!)

The look is nice instead of squard look like the Treo series. I wanted the phone ever since it came out but wanted to wait till chrismas to get it but I lost my Red Razr (tear) so I had to get a new phone istead of paying $50 fee to get a new I just bought a Touch out right.

Best Thing I Ever Did!!!!!!!!! A++ in my book!

32. had to get it

i like the phone, had the MotoQ for about a year, but for sum reason i wanted the touch screen, this phone does wat i need it to do and more. picture quaility lovely, sound quaility lovely. but for sum reason places i was gettin service with Q, that i cant seem to get with this phone. it has predict text so it makes it ez-er to text. i must say the power button is like way to ez to activiate. just a slight push and its on. i put it in my pocket a lot even thought it came with a case in the box, so that is a slight prob for me. but overall ithink this phone is 10, with a few minor set back. him2gud07@gmail.com to ask more.

33. Good to GO!

This is the second Pocket-PC that I personally own, The first one was from work, and it was an HTC equipment the 6700, but this one I like it so much that I brought it for me, for personal use, I can pretty sure do the same things that I used to do with the prior phone, plus I have the touch screen, the 2 mega pixels cam, the stereo mp3 quality sound. So far so good, because I haven’t got pretty much time to play with this new gadget.

34. Not Quite

I have to say I was anxious to get this phone once I heard it was on it's way (Thanks PhoneArena). Unfortunately I had to wait several days to activate it due to Sprint's backend upgrades this week. What idiot decided to make this major upgrade the same day they introduce a phone that was supposed to compete with I-Phone? Obviously their departments to not TALK to each other! This action left a sour taste in my nouth.

There are numerous flaws with this phone. First, and the most annoying, is that in standby mode the phone crashes for no apparent reason. At first I suspected it was due to one of the programs running in the background but after I closed all the running programs it still happened. This caused me to lose several incoming calls. Each time I didn't find out the phone had crashed until I went to use it myself. The worst part about this is that you cannot reboot the phone using any button. You have to take off the rear battery cover and remove the battery and then re-install. Very frustrating.

The second most annoying feature is the pop-up keyboards. On many occasions the keyboard hides the fields that you are trying to enter data into. This means you have to continuously go back and forth checking what you have typed to see if it's correct. How hard would it have been to move the whole screen upwards to keep the input field visible? Could no one at HTC see this problem? Wow.

There are other problems too. Too numerous to mention here. Let's just say that the blame for these problems should be disrtibuted evenly between Sprint, Microsoft, and HTC. I hope the first firmware update addresses these major issues quickly. You can also point the finger at Apple too. Because of the I-Phone manufaturers and service providers are rushing out phones before they're ready. To me the HTC Touch is a beta prototype at best.

35. Amazing

This is an incredible phone and I'm so glad it finally hit CDMA networks. The size is perfect, the layout is great, and it has all the features you could want (except maybe wi-fi). The screen smudges VERY easily though, I was selling one of these and had to take some glass cleaner to it twice before the guy left. Also, the response time is a little slow and sensitive. A stylus is basically worthless, as is to be expected, but this means that you have to use the "combined" keyboard, which like a blackberry puts two letters on one key. I suppose this means the size is perfect for all fingers, but it becomes a problem when you have to slow down and wait for the phone. I'll definitely stick with the Mogul for the keyboard but that is the only thing that is really unnerving about this device. If you're looking for a new phone, look into this one. It blows away most everything anyone in America is offering.

Very nice move for Sprint to have this Touch phone. Way to go. Nice features cruising through the fastest speed network.
