HTC Dream to go on sale Sept 17th? This article contains unofficial information.

Hot on the heels of a supposed video of the Dream, rumors are now swirling that it will see a September 17th launch on T-Mobile, followed by a global release. Dimensions are expected to be around 5" x 3" with touchscreen and slide out QWERTY, 3G data and a 3-megapixel camera. The device is said to resemble the one seen in the video, but that it will come in a rainbow of colors. T-Mobile users may pay as little as $150 for it, but the device could sell for as much as $400 to the general public. You'll also apparently need a GMail account to purchase one, but being required to sign up for the best (free!) email service on the planet isn't necessarily a bad thing. Of course, we'll believe this a lot more when some solid info leaks out.

no one cares about t mobile even if they do get better phones than VZW

No Service=No Need for a phone

...unless this is hot spot compatible

I am with you, no UMA/Wifi, it is not worth getting. I'm shocked that T-Mobile is relasing with out UMA/Wifi the UMA service is the best signal booster ever because there is no extra charge unlike Sprints airwave. 3G is nice but cmon, it is not nationwide and broadband access pretty much is by some provider and you can get a wireless router for about 50 bucks or more so this needs UMA/Wifi or it won't sell

i dont understand why everyone hates on tmobile. i never get droped calls in portland like verizon and at&t does. the only beef i have w/ them is the lack of 3g which they claim to be adding here. after 3g comes if the price doesent go up they would be the best carrier out there

I agree, I have no problem beef with the other providers except Sprint because of customer service and terriable upgrade policy. but lack of 3G is annoying but with a UMA/Wifi device you can greatly improve your signal and on some devices you can use data. and NO CONTRACT (even though you have to pay more for the device). Its cool that T-Mobile is finally releasing 3G, but I think they should focus on 4G way more so they won't be so far behind AT&T and Verizon with 4G

terrible upgrade policy? who has a better one? every customer gets a discount after one year, not just select ones, and like vzw high value ones get a full discount once a year. they dont give an additional $50 off the 2 year price like vzw, but their prices are also lower on the whole.

Yeah, I have to jump on this little "why hate on T-Mobile?" bandwagon. I've had them for several years now in Los Angeles, and I have absolutely no issues with their service. My only gripes, like many here, are the lack of 3G (which is coming), and good phones (which I hope is coming).

I've had Sprint here, as well as Cingular, and all were fine. No service is perfect. The only one where I saw concrete evidence of a better signal was Verizon. My friends and I were in the middle of the desert. All carriers were represented. The only one with service was Verizon.

That being said, Verizon's plans are much more expensive than T-mobile's, and I don't really find myself in the middle of nowhere too often.

150 off of the phone after completing 22 months of your contract is BS, Verizon gives you 50 or 100 bucks off of your new device with a new 2 yr (depending on rate plan for the amount) and being able to upgrade at the 2 yr price after completing 12 months of the contract (depending on the rate plan), T- Mobile and AT&T will allow for you to upgrade at the 2 year price after completing 22 months of the contract and sprint will give you 150 off of full retail in most cases that is not cheaper or equat to what they will offer customer to come to Sprint so everybody has a better upgrade policy that Sprint

know your facts. at the 22 month mark existing customers get the exact same pricing as new customers. its at least $150 off, not just $150 off. they qualify for any additional instant and mail in rebates, just like a new customer. just like vzw, for high value customers they can upgrade after 12 months at that price. vzw does give an additional $50-$100 off for single or primary lines, but vzws phone prices are significantly higher so thats usually a ways, especially if youre dealing with multi-line upgrades. for example, the muziq and chocolate 3 are similar phones, with the muziq being $50 less. the touch is $99 on sprint and $249 on vzw

okay im with you on the touch (which is way over priced) i disagree with you on the muziq and the chocolate 3 because the chocolate is about a month old, ill stop hating all companies have a reasonable upgrade policy depending on what device you want, but there customer service is still the worst lol

"Specs are reported to be a 5"x3" touchscreen with slide out QWERTY, 3G data and a 3.0 megapixel camera"
ain't that as ENORMOUS as a fridge?! damn, no one's gonna want to carry that thing in their pants, not even in their hands, that's just way too big for a phone

I think that T-Mobile good service or not is doing well in announcing new exclusive and general devices on their network. Its a nice surprise to think that T-Mobile may not be bought out by the big three. If your near the city you wont have a problem with their service.

If youre hoping for a good 3g coverage from Tmo you can hold your breath on that one. By the time it 3g is up to par with Big Red current 3g. All carriers will have upgraded to 4g, while Tmo just starts to get decet.

I agree but I can't hate on T-Mobile because of 2 things, No Contract and UMA. the lack of 3G sucks but the UMA is a good 2nd option they just need to not release a phone without the UMA option. I do agree quit this, stop hyping up 3G and catch up to 4g Little Pink. and the only company worth sucking balls is Sprint. Sprint means run so everybody should run away before there phones become bricks lol

Ha ha, vzw is a joke!

I tested the vzw network coverage and T-Mo's for a year while I was considering switching to T-Mo just to see if everyone that says there coverage sucks really does suck. Needless to say they're WRONG! My vzw phone was an LG pos, only had 2 bars where I live and I live a a big city where vzw is dominant. I then bought an unlocked phone and to use with T-mo. Man I had reception everywhere. Took them on vacation to Florida both had same reception. Most of these vzw fan boys have no idea what there talking about. If you want to find out how reception will be with a certain carrier, take it for a test drive! Another thing to consider is the phone you choose, make sure it gets good reception! All phones are different! Maybe if I didn't have the pos LG phone I would have had better reception. Who knows and who cares! VZW is a rip off, go T-mo, more bang for your buck! T-mo also has excellent customer service, would not even think of going back to over priced, commi, bott phones of vzw! Would rather go ATT then go back price gouging vzw!

Dude you had an LG (a cheap POS phone unless you had a Voyager or a Dare), Pick a good phone like a pearl at the least and you would be way more happier. My personal advice never get a regular phone because you just get regular service, if you get a more advanced phone you usally get more advanced service because of the money that is put into the phone.

i dont understand how diff phones get diff reception. dont they all have the same transmitters?

no the quailty of the transmitters are different because the new phones have the more up to date transmitters, the free phones are usally phones over stock that are 6 to 9 months old that no one wants to buy or they are trying to flush out the old phones to sell the new model of phones

^^It's probably the cheap POS phone you had, but remember that signal bar isn't always correct or even that accurate. As long as many of the phones have 1 bar it will just as good as it does with 4 or 5. Still the bar meter is very inaccurate and a estimation at best. Verizon dominates everyone in coverage these days, thats why they get rated the highest in all markets for everything including coverage.
