According to Taipei Times, HTC's financial executive Cheng Hui-ming, proved next month’s launch of the Diamond. Speaking in front of a group of investors, he said that the device is the company’s 2008 most important product, which will lead to increase in revenues by 20%.
It is expected to be a 3G WM 6.1 smartphone, which has a VGA touchscreen, WiFi and a 3-megapixel camera. Most likely, there will be both GSM and CDMA variants. Although expected to be announced at the May 6th event, the Diamond may not be available for immediate shipping. Later this year, HTC is expected to also launch its first Android based device.
