Free Wi-Fi access for iPhone users at AT&T’s hotspots

The recently formed union between AT&T and Starbucks led to the creation of Wi-Fi spots for existing broadband customers in all 7000 coffee shops with the total number of hotspots reaching 71000. Recently, iPhone users have reported that they are able to freely get Wi-Fi access at the company’s hotspots. This allows you to check e-mails while getting your morning cup of coffee for example. Connecting to the network is quite easy. When you connect to the Internet, you are automatically redirected to a specially iPhone formatted webpage. From here on, the only thing you have to do is enter your phone number, which enables you to take advantage of the Wi-Fi connection. The speed is not the fastest, but it does the job. AT&T has promised to bring the free Wi-Fi to its wireless customers, but there has not been an official release yet.
