Now, sometimes settling with a final name can be really difficult. When we last heard of this mobile browser, they were calling it just Firefox. What has happened now is that the first beta version has been released, once again going by the name of Fennec. In addition, a walkthrough video has also been published. The optimizations that have been made are mostly related to the performance. As a result, zooming and panning have become smoother, and startup time has been shortened. In addition, the developers have now incorporated Mozilla’s new JavaScript engine, Trace Monkey, and plug-ins that would allow you to watch videos directly on websites. The only bad news is that the beta release is only working with the Maemo platform, used by the N810 Internet Tablet, and there is no information on when we’ll have something to play with on the other platforms.
