Differences between iPhone and BlackBerry owners

What are the differences between iPhone and BlackBerry owners? A recent survey by Retrevo gives us some answers. There is a sex bias between the two smartphones. 53% of those using Apple's iconic touchscreen phone are female while 59% of 'Berry owners are of the male persuasion. 35% of iPhone users would be turned off by a romantic partner that had...GASP...out of date gadgets. 24% of BlackBerry users agreed. 22% of those using the latter device have broken off a relationship via e-mail or text while 33% of iPhone users have done the same thing. More iPhone owners than BlackBerry owners, by a 25% to 17% margin, have ended a relationship with someone because he/she spent too much time on a mobile device. 20% of iPhone users admitted to using the device to watch adult material while 12% of 'Berry owners made the same admission. Of those using the Apple device, 30% have watched television or video on it and 31% have used it to check news and/or sports while the numbers for BlackBerry users were 13% and 19% respectively.  Everyone loves to text with 50% of iPhone users and 46% of BlackBerry users admitting to have used their phone to send messages. Finally, 61% of iPhone users say that are extroverted, 18% characterize themselves as a jock, 40% would consider themselves an intellectual and 36% would say they are a media buff. The numbers for BlackBerry owners in the same categories are 53%, 16%, 36% and 28%. What conclusions can we draw from the figures? It seems that those who use BlackBerry devices see themselves as average, ordinary people while iPhone users have a somewhat exalted view of themselves.

From reading the posts below it seems that we need some help with our reading comprehension skills. The article is not saying that there are more iPhone owners than BB owners, and it is also NOT saying that more females use the iPhone over BB.



The article is saying that 53 percent of iPhone owners are female, while 47 are male. Likewise 59 percent of BB owners are male, and 41 percent are female. There is no comparison made stating that more women choose the iPhone over BB.



I think there needs to be mandatory IQ test before one can post on this website.

see, the study didnt ask which one of the groups were "well educated" or "busness people" or "stupid teens" which would be BB, BB, apple respectively.

very doubtful idmc...an age question would have been useful. employment and/or income as well,,,and how about education, high percent of berry users with college degrees, high percent of ipone users looking forward to being a highschool upperclassman.

lol I'm not college educated but I'll become an apprentice soon with so I have to attend college part time does that make me a college educated? And btw I have an iPhone and I loving it, BB is more like for company using their own email but iPhone users have GPush to get their their email. I'm a google mail user anyway and using a BB means I have to sacrifice a lot for slow browser crap GUI etc.

Anyway I was just kidding with ya all. I only base on what I need for my phone. i.e. a fast internet browser is a must for me, a navigation app especially offline one, and great protection case(OtterBox Defender case), so the iPhone is my only choice. Well I'm quite disappointed with BB though. Still I really hope BB will come back again.

ummm. the otterboxs are also made for just about every blackberry on the planet. you can get all of that on a blackberry or an android. the android has a faster browser than a BB and is way better than an iphone. and if your intent of keeping that old iphone, then u should at least unlock it and take it to Tmobile. its the same coverage at half the price.

while yes there are teens w/ BB there are far more gayphone teens.

i'm in highschool, and i take Statistics class right now. Based on this article, if you would've provided this on the test, you would get C; That is how pathetic this is. What age group were they? Are they Bussines people? Teens? Business owners? Who are they?

I am an itard hater, and I approve of this message. At least there are statistics now to back up my impression that iphone users are smug retards. If you consider yourself a techie yet you've ended up owning a mac or iphone you're really not as tech savvy as you'd think. You bought into a device that has a lot of programs for it but is essentially a pc or phone with training wheels. If you were a true techie you'd realize apple has you by the nuts and you'd move along to a more open sourced platform, and leave the iNazis behind before you have to start pushing people into gas chambers before they'll give you your next pc with mac osx on it. That is the natural progression of tech geeks, to platforms with more freedom. Its a sad day in the tech world when I think of Microsoft as the lesser or the dictator companies. Suck an iDick iFags. Lololololol
