LMAO LMAO im excited about this phone but I agree. They do this junk just to add more hype that this phone will be the "Iphone slayer" like the rest tried to be.

It's important, because some people are waiting for upgrades. If the phone was to launch in June of 2010 they may opt to buy a different phone until then. Also if the phone was to launch in January 2010 they may hold off and upgrading their phone to get the phone they REALLY want.

I think expected launch dates are important.

With that said, I would like to see phonearena put a little more effort in verifying how credible information is prior to posting it, retracting it, and reposting it 5 or 6 times.

who cares if it's the iphone killer or slayer..etc. As long as it has a nice browser, decent camera w/flash, no glitches and apps to make it the phone i want who cares. just my thought on it. I must admit i love the goth-ness of it. if thats a word.

you forgot decent keyboard, the one they showed looks like someone used a xacto knife and cut squares onto it. the TP2 which I got rid of because I had such high hopes for the droid still has one of the best keyboards out there.

i agree... i'm not sold on this hardware... that keyboard, and actually the whole phone, has issues.... ah, needs refinement i mean. I need to see what HTC is going to offer before i make up my mind...

Obviously Apple has done an amazing job positioning themselves in the market. With the outdated phone they offer they still are the key target of most multimedia / smartphone manufacturers. That says a lot about their product, even though it is outdated and has it's own issues.

What exactly is outdated about the iPhone? The reason the iPhone is the one to beat is it's functionality. It does everything it does well. The other smartphones out there are all buggy and glitchy while the iPhone is pleasant to use.

I have G1 and ever since I loved Android and refuse to get any other phone, but its T-Mobile and I have been waiting to see when this was actually going to launch for Verizon. I have to admit, I am a bit excited about the launch date, but I am cautious because Verizon is known for bringing out phones that have more bugs than a little bit..(remember that Blackberry storm). Im not a fan of the design, but I don't necessarily get a phone for style. I get it for functionality.. that being said , there is so much hype going in to this phone, it would be a shame for it to flop...

Speaking of design. I hear that this phone comes in two different colors, titanium and black. That metal look will be much more appreciated in the hand than on pictures. Gotta have one.

While it's cool to hear that it'll be so soon, it's disappointing that it won't be in stores for another week. I am really excited for this phone, but I won't buy it if I can't test it in-hand first, see the different colors in person, etc. I suppose I'll just have to wait two weeks, not one week, for the phone!

the good thing about this if your low on cash
just start it from your ready date
mines is the 4th of the month
and my end date is 30th of the month
and you have 5 days from your and date to pay
so i can pay $125 on the 9th then $125 on the 1st
i always get paid on the 1st
just giving you peeps heads up
if you got no money like me lol

Out of boredom I have watched the countdown clock for a couple days and couldn't figure it out. I got the symbols figured out by watching the seconds, but at one time it was as 17 days 33 hours and some odd minutes. Another time it went to 69 minutes instead of 59 etc. Seems the comments about it stopping at midnight on the 27th are right, but I have another take on it. If you watch the seconds and decipher the figures you'll see the clock stops at all "ones" and not all "zeros". Maybe this means it won't be released for sale till 11/11 at 11:11 am (?) pm (?). Just my 2 cents.
