as an iphone user for the very first time, i have to disagree. iphone is amazing for its UI, sleek design, and some useful apps & bunch of cool games (the rest is garbage), but i feel so restricted & limited knowing i own a smart phone. I can't stand itunes, i hate having to depend on it for everything. at the meantime I like or even love the phone a lot but it is NOT the best phone imho, it's one of the top phones for sure but shouldn't be the best one. I've played with the Pre, it's awesome in most categories but i just personally don't like the design, hardware & some. i'll be ready to crown a phone a best one when it combines all the good features of all the top phones all together. wishful thinking but i can hope :)

i don't think any other phone manufactures will top the IPHONE UI AND THE SLEEK DESIGN it has anytime soon but i think the OMNIA is really close though. i knew the STORM was garbage but i can't believe the PRE on the 4th position. over all the PRE is doing very good they sold ove 300,000 unit which is a good start.

That's becuase the average user rating the "smart" capabilities of their phone, doesn't actually need any "smart" functionality.

I don't know what/who they used to make this list of "best smart phones", but I disagree with it personally.

I would have rated the Curve 8900 above the Storm. The iPhone 3GS hasn't been out long enough to be established as the "best" smart phone, especially considering some of the issues it has had (Every phone is expected to have issues).

I just find it interesting that the 3GS had a problem with the "voice quality". So basically what the article says is that the iphone 3GS was a GREAT ipod Touch! And then I loved that Consumer Reports just decided to go ahead and "expertly" conclude "it must have been an issue with that particular phone". What a joke! How in the world does a phone that's only been out for a few weeks get ranked as the "top smartphone"? These kinds of "findings" are slowly but surely killing my regards for Consumer Reports.
