CES 2007: Samsung announces i760 and A727

Samsung just announced two new phones, and a few already known (and available) models. As always, the Korean manufacturer calls them innovative.

Samsung SGH-A727 is ultra-slim HSDPA/UMTS device with quad-band GSM support for global roaming. It has 262k color display and 2-megapixel camera, but its key feature will be the fast connectivity speed, the HSDPA data provides. The phone also supports A2DP for stereo music over Bluetooth. It measures only 4.5 x 2 x 0.35 inches (114.5 x 50 x 8.9mm) and although Samsung doesn't announce its availability, we guess it will be available with Cingular.

The Samsung SCH-i760 is more interesting and innovative, as it is Windows Mobile smartphone with both numeric keypad and side-sliding QWERTY keyboard. Still there are not much details revealed, but earlier rumors showed it coming to Verizon in the future. According to preliminary info, it will run the new Windows Mobile Crossbow instead of 5.0 but unfortunately will have only 128MB of flash and 64MB of RAM. It'll also pack EV-DO, Wireless network (WiFi), Bluetooth, microSD slot for memory and 1.3-megapixel camera.
