We have received new info on the hot BlackBerry Tour from one of our tipsters. To start with, a sales rep in San Antonio, TX has hinted that the Tour should not be expected to hit the shelves anytime earlier than mid-August. Yesterday, another tipster made all our hopes run on high by saying the handset actually features both SurePress touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard. We guess we’ll know for sure by the end of the summer.

An interesting story has also reached our ears going the Tour and the Palm Pre were mentioned in a “Verizon only email”. An image said to have been found in the message clearly indicates that both handsets have been added in some 5 Star Referral Tool, with the purpose of the latter to capture consumer interest.

wow why are they taking so long to push this phone out!!!?
att has had this phone for months. verizon get the iphone already stop messing around with the blackberry tour

AT&T does not have the Tour. They currently have the Bold and Curve 2.

Yeah they don't have the tour yet lol...all I have to say is I have the pre and I work at verizon and everyone drools over it lol. Other than that I guess verizon is trying to do big things with these 2 phones the iphone honestly will be no contest for verizon it will just be a little scratch compared to a big punch in the face. I think verizon will be number 1 for a very long time...sorry at&t looks like your going to stay in 2nd even if you continue to come out with a "new iphone" every year. Just for the record I'm not by all means a fanboy. I'm on the now network lol.

You work for Verizon but you use the Pre? Isn't that a conflict of interest?

number one i doubt you work for verizon because company policy prohibits non vzw products to be allowed on the showroom floor. second ive played with that phone and yes it is cool, nice concept but its in it early stages so the whole "everyone drools over it" i doubt is true.

NO WAY I KNOW VERIZON AND GAYT&T EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE THE PRE

LOTS OF EMPLOYEES HAVE TWO ACCNTS WITH DIFFERENT CARRIERS.

Really, thats the sentence structure we're using these days....I mean, I undestand that nobody really takes this site that seriously but can we at least get some proper sentence structure/grammar?

The "info" you got was from a SALES REP - they traditionally don't know much about phones before they release and certainly aren't in any place to find out priveleged information. Reliable sources who have been 100% in their info before are still saying the week of 7/13 for the launch.

If you guys read cnnmoney and also the verizon meetings they publish, you would see the IPHONE is coming first or second Quarter next year. Verizon Will not sell the phone it will be cpe meaning customer has to purchase from apple then come in to activate. Lowell wasn't sure if the IPHONE would be on cdma or our new lte luanching in some markets in Sept this year. Our 4g LTE network is going to be ridiculous I feel bad for ATT boys.
