for me, its completely independent of the software... its the "click"... thumbs arent meant to be worked out on a phone... im going to have to start curling weights with my fingers to use that screen...

one of the reasons why the iPhone has so many networkugs is because so many people bought the iphone and they were all accessing the data network

haha. The reason why it crashed was because so mnay people bought the phone (more than expected) and they were all trying to access the data network and/or iTunes which caused a lot of lag and confusion. I guess you guys all forgot about the reason behind the crash. Well I'm glad I was here to remind you guys.

114 - There were more Storms on hand to sell than I phones and VZW's network didn't crash. They are already ordering based on future shipments. We will see the numbers when RIM releases that info.

EVERYONE
CLOSE OUT ALL OF THE APPLICATIONS THAT ARE RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND BEFORE USING A DEMO PHONE
ODDS ARE YOUR GETTING YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF IT WHILE ITS RUNNING VZ NAV, CAMERA, EMAIL, VISUAL VMAIL, AND EVERY OTHER APP THAT THE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MESSING WITH. THIS WILL DRASTICALLY LOWER THE SPEED ON ANY PHONE UP TO AND MOST DEFINATELY INCLUDING THE IPHONE

typing on the screen seems bad bc theres no other phone w/this feature. give it a while for people to get use to it!

I may agree with this comment if I haven't heard peole say after a day of typing text and e-mail their thumbs hurt... Pretty sure getting used to it doesn't have to include growing caluses to avoid the pain...

it hasn't even been out for 24 hrs....technically, not a day. unless you have drive a dolorian with a flux capaciter (sp) then you might be able to jump to the future and talk to people who HAVE had it for a whole day, which in that case i'd find your comment a whole lot more valid #34

ppl say their thumbs hurt because they're prolly not use to typing on a qwerty keyboard anyway. i cant imagine that it actually hurts!!!

38 are you prepubescent?? There's plenty of people who have had the phone for days and reviewed it on their respective sites (ie phonescoop, engadget). You're witty comeback would only be valid if you had the knowledge to back it up.

Keep in mind the people who write these reviews do this for a living, so I'm pretty sure they have typed on qwerty keyboards for MANY years.

i think the only way a phone could compete with an iphone is if the screen was made of glass or whatever the material iphoen makes their screen and have a nice big bright screen like the iphone. but i see more young ppl with an iphone more than i see corporate ppl! i can only imagine if the iphone was on verizon how big verizon would be now...

agree 100%. I left Verizon for the iPhone and no matter what everyone says about most reliable and best coverage Verizon, I haven't regretted a single day of it.

there are lots of touch screens that are out there that are better than the iphone especially in features nokia tube, SE xperia X1, Touch HD, samsung instinct and the new behold for tmobile, G1, and wait till the 1 quarter 2009 when nokia launches its first Nseries touch phone it is going to be a sweet phone definitely the one that i am keeping my eyes on

I've never really been a fan of qwerty keyboards on phones and have hardly used one, but I had no trouble typing on the storm after having it in my hands for 2 minutes. It worked great and the few mistakes I did make had the correct word hovering above it for me to select. Clicking the screen took a little bit to get used to for selecting apps and links, but it was better than doing it accidentally while scrolling/panning. Storm is a top rate product.

Just called in and bought storm this morning. It's 249.00 with $50 mail in rebate minus $100.00 discount for new every two. That brings it to 100.00 bucks. Then the customer service rep said I am getting a $159.00 credit on my bill bringing the price of the phone to a NEGATIVE 59 bucks. I am a verizon vip customer and have been due for a new phone on the new every two plan since may so maybe thats why the xtra 159.00 credit don't know. However we'll c if it holds true on my bill. All in all haven't seen the phone but coming from a Razor I've been holdin out for a phone that really wows me. I'm hoping it does as much as the -$59.00 price. Worth a shot. If I hate it may return itfor a HTC pro which will be out in a week or so.
