Application from Android Market erases T-Mobile G1’s memory

advertisment:
As strange as it may seem, a lot of users have complained of the MemorUp app, the purpose of which should be to optimize G1’s memory. After downloading the program from Android Market, some of them had lost all their contacts and the phone had crashed, others had complained that all data on their memory card had been erased, and their e-mail addresses had been filled with spam messages. In addition, adware software had been found on some of the devices.

We’re more worried about the fact that such a harmful application has found its way to Android Market and has stayed unnoticed until now. If it has managed to creep inside, wouldn’t there be a chance for others?
