This phone is horrible. I have had 4 in the past year. Every single one would stop letting me call people. Then they would break at the top just by opening the phone. Then they wont let us use the warranty!! i should get the Lg Scoop!!!!

ya me and my wife both got our phones and the same time a year ago and they started to fall apart about 2 months ago. Breaking at the hing, paint coming off, and screen keeps fading out. By far the worst phones we have ever had. Alltel woun't help me out at all. I have been with them for over 5 years now but not after my contract is up. I might see if i can get a prepayed cell phone. It cost more but maybe in the end ill be better off

I had two LG AX8600 phones, one blue and one silver. I used the blue as my phone and the silver with a data cable for internet sevice on my laptop. They both worked great for about 10 months. Then suddenly, the blue one shut off one night and wouldn't come back on. I took it to an alltel store and had to wait to get another one in the mail while they gave me a really crappy piece of junk loaner. I got the next one in the mail a couple of days later, got it all set up having to reneter all my contacts and things since the firdt one just shut down. I used that one for about a week and that one shut down without any warning and wouldn't start up again. I took that one back to an alltel store and again had to wait for one in the mail. Got the third one, entered all my contacts and everything and again the same problem in a week. I called Alltel and raised total hell but still had no luck. I took that phone back to the store and raised hell only to be told I had to go through 4 mailed phones before they would give me a different model. So, I got the 4th phone and when someone would call, most times it wouldn't even ring let alone tell me I had a missed call. I would get text messages hours they were sent to me. So, finally I got a different model phone, LG AX565. The sales associate said that it was the replacement for the LG AX8600 and told me that some of the phones had been recalled. This phone will not use any of the ringtones I have stored on my phone. I can listen to the sounds but I can not use them for ringtones. The only way to use a ringtone on the AX565 is to buy new them. Now, as for the silver AX8600, at the time I was having trouble with the blue phone I didn't have the firdt problem with the silver one so I thought it was just the blue one. Shortly afterwards however, I started having problems with the silver one. I only use it for an internet connection. A message will pop up on the phone saying the battery is charged or is charging and will kick me off the internet everytime. After a day or two of this, I call Alltel and was told that my warranty had expired and that because I didn't have insurance on that phone, there was nothing they could do about it even though the phone was one of them that was recalled. Talk about sorry customer service and even worse products! Maybe I am wrong but I think that Alltel should replace any phone that has been recalled whether they have insurance on them or not!
