AT&T to launch HTC Hero early 2010? This article contains unofficial information.

advertisment:
We have been told by one of our tipsters that he has a friend building firmware for AT&T. He says that he was told that his friend is building one for the HTC Hero which should be released early in 2010. The Hero is HTC's first Android device that runs the Sense UI, which also makes it the first Android phone that has a browser that supports flash. The model offers a 3.2 inch screen with resolution of 320 X 480 pixels, a 5MP camera, Wi-Fi and a 3.5mm audio jack. As far as CDMA versions are concerned, Sprint has already released its' version of the Hero and there is talk that Verizon will offer a model that will not include the Sense UI. As we get more info on the AT&T variant, we will pass on the word to you.

No, it's not exclusive. The Hero is on its way to Cellular South, Bluegrass Cellular, and other smaller carriers.

or maybe at&t are starting to realize that if they want to compete, they need Android; which could also explain why they aren't hit'n back at those Vzw 'iDon't, Droid does' commercials. I've been wanting this phone for the longest, but couldn't fathom spending cash on an unlocked one only capable of hanging out w/ Edge. at&t, you need this...I NEED THIS!

What's funny... is how is this news with no proof? I build chipsets for a living. And as a lot of the times I don't get to see the devices, We are told what they are for. I haven't built anything for ATT with HTC chipsets in them regarding the models. Unless they went to another manufacturer.... which I doubt since we've worked on anything released here in the states for awhile now. This was like the other "Tipster" or rumors Verizon decided not to take the Palm Pre, when my company had already built 100,000+ chipsets for the Verizon version. And a bunch of revised one's for the Sprint version. But nothing for an ATT model.

I honestly think ATT is getting skipped or has to wait for all these other phones because of the IPhone.

I call BS to this tipster, I don't see this coming to them till at least June/July 2010
