The No.1 phone company has stated that the 4% lay off of its workforce is also due to in part of 'a changing business mix...

agree with #33 everyone is iphone this iphone that, there is no iphone killer blah blah blah...well verizon doesnt need an iphone killer although i believe the storm is far superior is all dependent on pure personal choice, some people may like it better some people may not. Thats why the're different companies making different phones. BUT Verizons lineup on handsets is exceptional, more variety then any company and most of them are quality handsets as well, even now the voyager is still selling great not to mention env2 and chocolate 3 are also GREAT handsets and even the Krave MOTO did something half right for once, gotta give them that their voice quality is always exceptional on phones, the rest they s*ck. Anyways just my 2 cents.

P.S. GO VZW FANBOYS!!! (lol someone out there gets pissed when that is used, i just had to)

"most of them are quality handsets as well"... please... if quality means crippling, then yeah... vzw has "quality" handsets... they cripple anything and everything that they can... they completely obliterated the touch pro... leave it to a vzw zombie to be blinded by the commercials...

P.S. What good is a smartphone if youre always waiting for it to load... and the storm is HORRIBLE... sure, vzw sold a bunch, but most are exchanges or have been returned... keep living in your delusional commercial world...

It's funny how Verizon Wireless didn't need an iPhone killer, but they snatched up exclusivity deal for the Blackberry Storm, which is a direct competitor of the iPhone.

its also funny how they brag about rehash phones too...how many chocolates and envys will their be? At least other carriers have a flow of different phones. I bet all of these verizon users will have a chocolate 9 or envy 12 someday and brag how great the phone is and how much units were sold to high school students and still wish they can have an iphone.

there was a HUGE step up between the env and env2 and same thing with the chocolate and chocolate 3, the chocolate three has no similarities between the original chocolate! get to know your verizon phones there buddy! and most people between the ages of 10 to 28 can settle with verizon dumbphones becasue they are trendy and stylish, also most can give two shits about unlocking a phone or care about every feature it can do haha lol.

why do you say slower processor? why? do you even know the speed of what processor each unit have?..... Yeah i was pretty sure you didn't now, please open your mind and try to understand just because an OS is bugged does not mean the hardware is bad, yes storm has lag issues and some simple menu rendering gitter but most of it has already been fixed in the .75 patch if you bother to try it out. So please before you say stupid things like the one you just said do some research.

the bold is not touchscreen... hence it not being returned anywhere near as much as the storm... and the storm has a slower processor (blod has 624, storm has 500... both have 128mb of ram)... for such a short statement, you made some pretty big errors... you must be a vzw employee... or a vzw fanboy... do some research, and take your face out of vzws lap...

this is #34 replying to #39 and #41 now i feel like an android, anywho yes verizon has tons of quality handsets, now weather the handsets do have some features disabled mainly what you guys complain about is OBEX Transfers via bluetooth which by the way the LG Dare is capable of, Now i'l mention a couple of handsets that are definately great handsets that verizon does have, Dare, enV2, Choco 3, LG 8350, Decoy, Voyager, C211, 9400, 740, including the enV that tons of ppl use and the original 8300 as well as 8600 n 8700, its plenty of good phones that alot of PROVEN good phones, no because i say so. but because customers say so day in and day out, and yes some have had issues but its like everything nothing made is perfect but they are products that work great and they ARE great at what they are meant to work as.

sorry #41 forgot about replying to you, yes BB announced it as the next iPhone Killer....hmmm its hard to say maybe you say its not but just how there are plenty of people who say it is, and again same amount who say it isnt. But then again Apple has had almost 2 years to perfect their design yet the same flaws still remain. I believe in products that improve maybe not in the first model but maybe in the second unit, or maybe in just upgraded software. To be honest the power of the BB is incredible to render such high definition video and no seem of ghosting requires some amazing hardware...maybe they are just missing the right touches...who knows but all i can say is time will tell, and yes the iphone is also a gorgeous piece of machinery thanks to it, other companies have put their pants on and we may yet see something insane one day. we can only hope :)

its awesome how all the "quality" handsets are dumbphones... but when you get to smartphones, theres no quality... you know it, all vzw employees know it... customers dont, because vzw pushes them around, and blinds them with such a high bill... before anyone says the storm is quality... step back from your vzw kiosk, and count your storm returns... horrible ui, horrible click screen, and lags a lot (even with stuff closed in the background)... but hey, if you want to pay a lot a month for using a quality dumbphone, then by all means, go ahead... just dont expect people to pay a lot a month for using a crippled smartphone... in which vzw is now demanding you have a data plan on... which is higher than their competition...

i have to say, the iphone is far more advanced, you think about it people say the iphone killer, well it woudln't be an iphone killer if the iphone wasn't the top of the game would it?? why not the storm killer? or the dare killer? because iphone revolutionized the touchscreen... think about it all the time the other phones have had to "perfect" the design they should have dethroned the iphone.. you can't say the storm is better than the iphone because the storm has had time to improve on the flaws that the iphone missed on same w/ any other phone.. the iphone is the original you can't compete w/ the original... its like mj and kobe or lebron.. seriously guys mj wins all the time...

another vzw rep voicing a commercial... did you read the article? wireless is not getting rid of jobs, they are hiring because of growth... its landline that is laying off people... because of voip... coverage is on an individual basis... for the majority of america, every carrier has good coverage... most major cities are covered by all major carriers... its the boonies that you vzw tools are stating vzw has great coverage... thats fine, most people dont live in the boonies... so we dont care...

P.S. YOUR SMARTPHONE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PARTS IT STILL HAS! (not that its a secret, but VZW CRIPPLES SMARTPHONES!)

OMG! For kicks, I went to Cingular/At&t.com to check for a coverage map. NO COMPARISON AVAILABLE. Then, being the loyal customer I am, I went to VZW.com and checked it's coverage. VZW offers comparison after comparison of coverage between different carriers. Now why do you think they wouldn't offer the same service on the Cingular/At&t website? Because there's nothing to brag about in regards to coverage!! There's a truth out there. Be a part of it...GO VZW!!!

Blah, blah, blah... Nice try RIM. IPHONE RULES! And all of the AT&T haters... I love my service and I love my iPhone. I been with AT&T for 8 yrs and I'm not going anywhere no matter what '' the phone is as good as the network it's on '' wow... The bb storm is a piece of GARBAGE period. The phone just released and look how many updates it already had but when Apple release an update for the Iphone, every verBLOWzon with the FAKE NIKE check fan-boys going nuts about it. Anyway, there will be no iphone killa anytime soon NOT when a big company like RIM had over a year to study the iPhone, and still fall short to it. ok here we go... att has the fastest 3g speeds...best phones(iphone, incite, tilt, bold, etc...) is the biggest cell carrier( for now and probly the future)...cdma blows...service is great regardless of the morons who say otherwise...we have sony ericsson, pantech, nokia... If att sucks then how come they have sony, pantech, nokia focusing on att? ( tmoibile a little bit) how many customers went too att because of the iphone, a phone verizon users want so badly? att is U.S. independently owned unlike verizon who shares profits with vodaphone who is considering selling them... att is the father of communications...and at one point was considered to be a monopoly...

wrong sorry...the us version of the device got launched with version .65 and version .75 just got released for OTA two nights ago or via hotlink 4 days ago. sorry but you lost...remember the BB9530t (storm) was available in canada about 2 wks before it was launched by verizon
