AT&T Quickfire pulled from shelves

advertisment:
A phone call placed to our local AT&T wireless office confirms the report that the AT&T Quickfire messenger phone has been pulled from Ma Bell's line-up. When asked for a reason, the rep answered that the device did not meet the standards of the carrier. The handset is manufactured for AT&T by Personal Communications Devices and is equipped with a 1.3MP camera, microSD slot and a sliding QWERTY keyboard that is similar to the design of T-Mobile's Sidekick. The phone, which runs on AT&T's 3G network, was launched this past November. There was no word on whether or not the model would return to AT&T.

Everything! I work in the Warranty dept for AT&T and every other call is about this phone messing up! Mostly the touchscreen.

Appalling phone, appalling service. I bought a Quickfire in late November 2008. Within a couple of weeks, the phone wouldn't charge. Went back to the store and they gave me a new charger (but it took a week). Phone still wouldn't charge. I was then told to call the AT&T warranty number. They sent a new phone in January. Within a few weeks, the touch screen on the replacement malfunctioned. We called AT&T again and this time they sent us a refurbished phone. Within 3 days that malfunctioned (try to change the wallpaper, the phone shuts down). I've spent literally hours on hold with AT&T Customer Service and hours at their at their authorized phone store (Apex Telecom) trying to get a refund on this phone and they refuse to refund my money, even though the reps have admitted that there have been lots of complaints with this phone. I paid $99.99 for the Quickfire with a 2-yr contract. AT&T will only give me a Propel or Matrix ($49.99 and 79.99 with a 2 yr contract, respectively) and won't let me end the contract. Additionally, if I accept one of these "replacement" phones, the warranty on it will start from the date I first purchased the Quickfire (Nov 2008).

I purchase my quick fire in Janauary i bought it without a contract becouse i did not want to extrend mine so spend 349 plus taxes
i had no problems for the first 3 weeks then it started to foul up on me when i would use Yahoo IM and only then would it freez
so i took it back to the store
it was 29 days old and replaced it
then with in 2 days of having the replacemtn a green one it started to foul up same problem
luckicly they started the 30 days over again for the new device after each time i had it replaced
so i got the other one and then 3 weeks worked fine i found out ATT pulled the phone from there line i then called warranty to find out what phones they where replacing them with i found out i could get a properl a matrix or a LG vu none of them the reason i got this was for the reason i got this was for the full querty and the touch screen so i said the heck with it and took it back got my refund and now im just holding onto my 350 i got back and waitng maybe they will bring it back in the next few months
so i am back to my Palm Treo 680
