20 million Windows Mobile phones sold in 2008

advertisment:
We've seen quite a few new faces pop up during 2008 in the realm of mobile operating systems for mobile phones. Google launched their much anticipated Android system while BlackBerry created a refreshed look in time for their new devices. In the midst of it all, there have been 20 million devices sold with good old Microsoft's operating system, according to the company's CEO, Steve Balmer. Users of the aging platform were provided a ton of customized home screens from various manufacturers which brought a lot of graphical enhancements. Over the course of 2008, Microsoft delivered 11 different devices that each sold over a million units. In conjunction with their various partners, over 20 million Windows Mobile powered phones were sold globally.

This is exactly why Windows has more than 80% market share for personal computers and mac has under 10%. The iphone is nice and all, but I would never buy it personally, and if I were given one as a gift, I would sell it on eBay for all the tools out there that don't even know why they want it. I have windows PC and I love it, so my windows mobile phone does more than I need (and I can play plystaion games on it!).
